I love how he thinks that if we do not like the inferior product, then somehow we are less intelligent and never went to college. I went to college for 12 years. The fact that college sports are so inferior and I watch pros should be a positive as far as intelligence goes.

Why do you feel the need to continually profess the supposed inferiority of college sports . You seem very insecure to me. It took you 12 years to get through college?

I did not start the thread and I rarely ever post about college sports.
Also, it takes about 12 years when you get a PhD.

For every one exciting NFL game, i seen 10 epic CFB games. For every SB LI, you have Boise St-Oklahoma Fiesta Bowl, "Hail Flutie", the three Miami-FSU "wide Right" games, Miami-OSU title game, Stanford-Cal "The Band's on the field!" game. Same thing for basketball. Houston-NC state, Duke-Kentucky Laettner game, last year's UNC-Villanova trumps the 6 month NBA reguals season snoozefest and the 5 month playoffs. But its nice that you big intelligent "people" are here to tell me what to watch. That is seriously not true. You are actually boasting the opposite of what is possible. CFL could never compete with NFL in terms of close and exciting games. Every Saturday you have Alabama or LSU vs. like Southeastern Cow College in a 59-0 blowout. Sure, every now and then you get some nationally televised slugfest, but you get those every weekend in the NFL. Also, college basketball has inferior players who cannot run an offense, move without the ball, or play man to man defense. Most fans do not even watch until March Madness. The game sucks. Don't you badmouth Southeastern Cow College, boy! The Herd will run right over you! MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you have a PhD I understand, but I'm not sure that I believe it. Why would a educated person slam a sport that others love? It smacks of a superiority complex to me. Forget about Purge who started this thread. We should all know that he is a troll who started this thread to start conflict. I like the NFL more than I do college football. I happen to like college basketball more than the NBA for reasons that you can't comprehend. There is nothing wrong with that. I hope you continue to enjoy baskeball as I do.

As is often the case in sports debates (or any discussion, really), the people badmouthing college basketball are speaking in generalizations and clearly do not watch the game. Obviously the players are less talented, but what constitutes a 'better product' is in the eye of the beholder. Many college games are defensive struggles that end in 47-44 final scores. But is that more or less compelling than a last place team mailing it in for a lottery pick or just plain getting blown out by one of the better teams that exist in the league? NCAA and NBA both feature compelling matchups and complete mismatches, it happens. And honestly, I don't find 123-122 final scores any more or less compelling than a 63-62 final score if both came down to the wire. If you love the game, then both should be enjoyable.
I'm a basketball fan, period. I like college and the pros because I love the game. I recognize the contrasting styles of play but still appreciate both equally. I'd vote NBA because I want to see the greatest players make incredible plays night in and night out; but I'm not going to discount what the college game has to offer by making generic statements like 'nobody plays defense' (when the score is low because most coaches preach defense more than offense, because talent can't be handed out to everyone but literally anyone can play defense), or 'there is no ball movement in college' (because the game of basketball cannot be played without ball movement-- seriously, watch a full game and tell me you don't see flashes of great offense even if it isn't sustained throughout the entire game).
Everyone has their preference and there's no right or wrong answer to that question. I simply disagree with the premise that the college game is complete garbage-- especially when the observations being made in favor of that argument are patently false.

No argument I made was false. Most college teams play zone. This is because the teams look pathetic when they try to play man to man. Also, the games are low scoring because the offense sucks, not because the defense is good. Players can not effectively move without the ball. I already explained this. Players stand around and do not move. Sure, they move the ball back and forth, but the passes accomplish nothing.

I will not argue with someone who is arguing about a subject they are not educated on. Goodbye.

If the offense sucks and nobody moves without the ball, why would teams 'look pathetic' when playing man defense? Surely you can stay with your man if he isn't moving at all? Regardless, given the choice I'd take a great NBA matchup over a great NCAA matchup, so we're in agreement there. I just think your argument is flawed.

Even the great college players don't succeed in the NBA and most have to go through a full season to get up to speed and some still can't do it...that's why college hoops is for face-painters.
