The ending was too abrupt, It was just like, "Okay, the movie's over. Bye-bye."
Also, I don't like that they brought Maul back. I don't watch Rebels, and when I heard they brought Maul bakc, I was like, "Da f**k? Dude got cut in half."

I agree, it ended way too soon.

For me, the ending was fine.
SPOILERS Darth Maul turns out to be the head of the crime syndicate which Solo had been connected. (Many fans know that Maul survived TPM but if it’s a surprise, it can be compared with the surprise ‘I am you father’ line in Empire Strikes Back.) (Emilia Clarke) Qi'ra needed to obey Maul in order to survive. Solo and (Woody Harrelson) Beckett fight over the ship fuel. And finally Solo wins the Falcon in a card game as stated in Empire Strikes Back. END SPOILERS
For me the story felt done after that. It’s not a huge action finale and maybe some people didn’t like that but ESB also had a low key ending after the Luke/Vader fight. But imo that worked for a Solo movie. Han at this time was mainly a thief/smuggler and was not yet a big part of the rebel war.
I also like this kind of new Star Wars movie because it doesn’t try to drastically reinvent well established story concepts from the Original Trilogy (which were pretty much followed in the Prequel Trilogy). This is why I prefer both the new films where Lawrence Kasdan (the script writer from Empire Strikes Back) was involved; “The Force Awakens” and “Solo”. Kasdan’s message is; ‘Remember the old Star Wars? I’m going to pretty much put another adventure story in that world’.

I still have hopes that the positive word of mouth from the people who've actually seen it (as opposed to the people who rated it 1 star before it even came out) will give it strong legs. But even if it ends up being a total flop, Kathleen Kennedy will still be a millionaire in charge of Lucasfilm, and I'll still get to laugh that your childhood is being"ruined".

Keep hoping, buddy.....it's a surefire recipe for success.
Just ask DCU fans.
I wouldn't be so sure about Kathleen Kennedy's future either. I'd say if she is responsible for producing one more divisive/shitty Star Wars movie, she's going to be looking for a new job.

No, for me the ending was drawn out! But at least we agree it was the worst part of an excellent film. I didn’t like the twists at the end. So many implausible twists is dumb. But it was a great film! 👏🏻

Would have probably cooled some of the outrage of people angry we never got any of his backstory.

Disney releasing Solo one week after Deadpool 2 was a bad move for both films. It split ticket sales. BB ;-)

BB ;-) There were several articles written after the summer of 2012 that the Avengers took money away from other movies. Deadpool 2 fell short this weekend. Infinity War fell pretty much where expected. Deadpool 2 was expected to make $67 mill for the 4 day weekend but ended around $53 million.

The Star Trek TNG film franchise peaked with 'Star Trek: First Contact'. Then it had 2 flops in a row at the box office. The film series was ended and Paramount put the entire Star Trek franchise into hiatus. The point being if too many Star Wars films consecutively underperform at the box office, it would likely cause scale-backs or even a hiatus. And if that were to happen, the odds are that Kathleen Kennedy would get fired.
