10/10Along with
Braindead (1992) and
The Frighteners (1996) my all time favorite Peter Jackson film.
I love how it plays a great spoof of the whole
The Muppet Show universe and in such a hilarious, sleazy and over-the-top way.
Having seen a few of the films both as a kid and then later on as a teenager/adult, Meet the Feebles only gets better and better by time.
My and my brother used to love watching these gory and disgusting b-movies as often as we could.
I have only rated a perfect 10/10 to two of Jackson's films, and none were part of the
Lord of the Rings franchise (even though I handed out a 9/10 to the first two films) but Meet the Feebles and Braindead are perfect entertainment and gets better and better everytime I see them.
Quite surprised at how few DVD versions there are of Meet the Feebles, as my copy is from 2002 and is a scandinavian, uncut version which I have not seen since summer of 2003.
Online, some DVD copies is listed in rather sickly high prices, up to £396.19 for one damn movie!

while others have it lying around for the "cheap" cost of £104.52.
Even the cheaper ones seems too pricy for such a movie, and none of them seems to include any subtitles such as the scandinavian ones did.
Not sure if or when it might get a Blu-ray release, but considering what a riot the movie is, and how many times several of Jackson's movies have been double, tripple and so on dipped with limited editions, super editions and so on getting re-released on DVD and Blu-ray, I am surprised that his early work mostly seems to be "ignored" when it comes to getting some kind of a upgrade, but I guess it is better to at least have one copy of it, than none.
Anyway, back to the film itself.
Here is just one of many hilarious and classic early Peter Jackson moments:
