Or the main reason at least, or just one of several complaints: The fact that the hero of the movie is a female, that's what I just don't like.
Omg i'm a really horrible person for admitting that, oh my gosh. Not! I just don't like a female hero in star wars that's all. Who's with me on this? lol
Ok sorry.

Ok sorry. I can't get behind that. It's not like Star Wars is something inherently masculine so female heroes aren't out of place in its universe. If you remade something like Commando with a female as the lead and didn't change the macho vibe of the film to fit, then I'd bat an eye, but Star Wars has always been kinda neutral when it comes to masculinity or femininity. It's practically asexual, really. It's never been about big, burly dudes mowing down Storm Troopers with a mini-gun and a stogie hanging out of their mouth. I thought Rey was... fine... in TFA. I can understand the Mary Sue complaints because she is very good at everything and everybody seems to love her. Her character does suffer as a result. It felt forced. Unlike Luke who was usually in over his head but persevered and ended up saving the day, Rey always seems highly competent and is treated like the "chosen one", which takes away much of the tension. I guess if you can't identify with a female character as a guy, that's fine, you do you... but there were more legitimate problems with her character that had nothing to do with her sex.

Seriously dude, how old are you? Grow up.
As someone else said, SW was never a series about flaunting masculinity. It's a space-fantasy about going on adventures with mysticism, a good vs bad army and alien cultures. A female hero fits in perfectly within this world.
I think Daisy Ridley does fine as Rey. It's more an issue of how the character is written. She develops into a skilled Jedi and fighter over the course of one film while it took Luke three films and training under two Jedi masters to become great.

Leia , and padme are not the main characters though, in the story. So they don't bother me. In star wars you gotta have a dude as the lead character.

Absolutely hated TFA (not because the lead was an actress, thats fine because I thought Rogue One was actually decent) but the new actors / actresses all pretty much sucked in TFA. Finn & Poe's laughable bromance , Rey being able to take down Kylo Ren so quickly etc etc. It just sucked. The direction by Jar Jar Abrams was uninspiring (and a cheap rip off of A New Hope as well ) . 5/10

Ok sorry. Not me. You're a sexist pig. I'm gonna laugh at you behind your back for liking a movie where the lead hero is female. But only because you're male, if you were female then you could like it, then you could like it without me making fun of you. lol

Forgive me. I shouldn't have called you a sexist pig. I should have called you a sexist C U Next Tuesday. It's obvious that star wars is pushing their anti-men pro female agenda. That's part of the reason why Solo was a breath of fresh air so to speak.
I'm sorry you didn't realize that already:

So was the original trilogy pushing an anti-women pro male agenda? No, just doing what was normal. It would have been kinda weird if the main character was a female wouldn't it?
It's logical to have a male in the role, one of the many many reasons why it worked so much better than the new star wars. Whether people will actually admit that fact, is an entirely other thing, lol.
