I was thinking about how he has received some incredibly high praise in years past but I can't recall too much I like him in other than the 3 Hannibal movies. Westworld, a TV show, is my second fav thing with him in it.

I don't consider his Hannibal work all that good. Remains of the Day is much better.

Hopkins on "Transformers: The Last Knight": "‘You’re not going to ask me to explain the plot are you?’ he says. ‘Because it’s so very complicated and there’s the whole mythology of four previous films that come into play. I have to admit, I don’t quite get all of it. ‘All I know is I play a highly educated, eccentric English lord. I had a terrific time making it. Mark Wahlberg was wonderful to work with, the locations were excellent [Northumberland, Norway, Arizona, the Isle of Skye and Stonehenge] and I showed up, put my costume on, said my lines and stayed out of trouble. That’s all I ever do. It beats working for a living.’" Read more: www.dailymail.co.uk/home/event/article-4587980/Anthony-Hopkins-Hannibal-Lecter-Transformers.html#ixzz5H8TeBwhi

Surely, there are no sane people who think the Hannibal movies weren't among his worst, if not the worst. Making a demi god out of a homicidal maniac, adding to the usual Hollywood deification of evil, brainwashing kids to be mass murderers and think they'll get respect for it.
I'm glad Hopkins didn't think the movie was that glorious.

What is Anthony Hopkins' best non-Hannibal movie?
So, movie... or performance?

Remains of the Day is a classic. One of my favorite Hopkins roles.
Mask of Zorro is entertaining Alexander as old Ptolemy and narrator The Bounty as Capt. Bligh (great film) Titus as Titus Noah as Methuselah
I need to see Howard's End. I have not and won't see the Hannibal films. I'm not into that type of film.
