Another big game where Chris Sale pitches like the #4 starter for a Florida State League team. I'm beginning to think he's the Dan Marino of baseball. Gaudy numbers that never translate to postseason results.

Gaudy numbers that never translate to postseason results. It's because he's on my fantasy team. That is the -only- conceivable reason. I am the Thanos of fantasy sports. See you in September when Saquon Barkley breaks his hip... there is no one better at being fantasy cursed than I.

"Oh well, they are teeing off on my curveball. That's nice. Yaaaaaaaawn"
But, do me a favor. Don't tke any more Red Sox. Pick up a lot of Yankees and Astros players

can seattle make the post season this year? Maybe squeak in the 2nd wild card. Barring a collapse or some silliness, Houston will run roughshod over that division and the Red Sox/Yankees will take one WC. On another topic, who would have bet that on June 2nd, The Los Angeles Dodgers and Detroit Tigers would have identical records? And that Pittsburgh and Oakland would have better records than the Dodgers? Not really fair, any team would suck with four starters on the DL.

can seattle make the post season this year? I just noticed how much better the Mariners are playing AFTER Robby Cano took his summer vacation. I wonder if he isn't a "clubhouse poison" type. The Yankees weren't exactly devastating when he was there. One pennant, one World Series. And I always thought it was damned odd that they let him walk away. He was by far the best player in the 2013 Yankees (Jeter was hurt and past his prime). That was the Vernon Wells/Lyle Overbay/Jayson Nix 3rd place stumblebums. To let your best player walk when you don't have an immediate replacement and on a downward spiral AND not hurting for money is suspicious. Did the Yanks knew he was juicing or figured they were better off without him in the dugout.

I think the Mariners will take the 2nd WC slot in the AL, it will come down to them and the Angels for the final WC slot, and I think the Mariners will take it, they are more complete than the Angels and have more power hitting and a stronger bullpen.

What were the odds at the beginning of the season that Matt Kemp would be leading the NL in batting average by the beginning of June?

the team on the rebuild to watch for in the next couple of years are the phillies, and about time too tired of watching them compete with the mets for last place in the division, even though the mets are getting better also which would be good to see new blood at the top

They have a shitload of young pitching coming up and talent already there. I can see Philadelphia and Atlanta being on top, Washington and the Mets fighting for scraps and a long rebuild for Miami. The Nats better win this year. They wonβt bottom out, but the doormat caught up.

anybody have an opinion on jake arrieta throwing kingery and kapler under the bus in the media after a horrific stint in san fran?
shut the f*ck up and pitch. granted you've been tremendous this year and the hitting hasn't been there and kapler (rookie manager) has made some mistakes. shut the f*ck up and pitch.
calling kingery to the table (rookie) in the media and then questioning their 'shifts' in the outfield. granted - it's been a concern and questioned since day 1. you signed a huge 3 year deal and the first year is front loaded with like $30 mil - shut the f*ck up and pitch.
no worse look to me than throwing your coworkers under the bus - it's June. You're still above .500. Shut the f*ck up and pitch. it screams Rat, Worm, Weasal, Rodent.............

My Blue Jays are an unmitigated disaster. Manager Gibbons should be fired ASAP, but probably won't as the season is pretty much lost already.

For every game a pitcher loses where he was awesome, he'll win a game where he absolutely shits the bed. The door swings both ways, Jake.

For every game a pitcher loses where he was awesome, he'll win a game where he absolutely shits the bed. The door swings both ways, Jake. it's the first week of June for Christs Sake and although they've had a rough stretch he pulls this crap in the media (let's not even talk about the contract). my hope was he'd anchor this pitching staff and be a 'leader'. a leader (I don't care what line of work you're in or what industry) - doesn't throw his teams/company under the bus. you have a problem? you're the alpha? keep it behind closed doors and pull team members/management aside. the question to me is has he had closed door meetings this early in the season - that he's pulled management aside - and maybe he's not happy with getting 'yanked' due to Kapler's stats and is unhappy due to the run support. if that's the case - adios a$$hole. it's june. JUNE. this team is on the upswing and you're supposed to be a 'leader' - guess what ACE - even if you're performing and the 'team' is failing you take responsibility - that's what a 'leader' is - and that's why you're getting ridiculous coin for a team that wasn't even supposed to contend this year. whata d*ck. way to ruin my monday a$$hole.

MLB can't do anything right. Watching the draft. Instead of showing the picks and trying to draw out some suspense, they are on a commercial break when the first pick comes in and yapping to Casey Mize's parents for the #2.
