The Mets are incomprehensibly bad. Yeah yeah yeah, injuries to Cespedes, Frazier, Syndergaard, Familia, blah blah blah. They are terrible, a top heavy team that just can't get or stay healthy.
Oh, and fret not, rest of baseball. Whatever they decide to do, be it re-tool or tear the whole thing down and trade their only two worthwhile assets for stud young position prospects, they will undoubtedly fuck it up. Instead of demanding Gleyber Torres and Miguel Andujar for Jacob deGrom, they'll settle for Jacoby Ellsbury before even picking up the phone and calling another team. Sandy Alderson, the "Baseball Maverick," is every other GM's bitch.

There's some green shoots coming through. I think we've got the right coach who's teaching them how to play. It's just a matter of whether they can play consistent ball over the second half of the season, so the young guys feel like they're part of something that's growing and heading somewhere. If they can, we should be able to hold onto a lot of these kids and develop into a solid ball club within 2-3 years.

Sandy Alderson, the "Baseball Maverick," is every other GM's bitch. Jacoby Ellsbury is the one piece the Mets need to become contenders again and compete for a World Series trophy, itโs just that most baseball fans arenโt smart enough to see his value. Last season Ellsbury collected only 94 hits and had a .264 batting average, but his BABIP was only .194, suggesting he was just unlucky, and his OSBH (Outs that Should Be Hits) was .349, meaning Ellsbury actually batted better than .300. At the same time, he led the league in BSU (Barrel Surface Used) despite a 1.64 UCS (Umpire Created Strikes), and his Swing Velocity was higher than itโs ever been, meaning he should have hit more home runs and it was just bad luck that he didnโt. Finally, his COCK (Created Outs on Coincidental Ks) was a thick and veiny .467, and his Wind Independent Hitting (WIH) trailed only Chuck Knoblauchโs for first in MLB history. Ellsbury is in his age 35 season, which means the Mets should enjoy productivity from him for years to come. Alderson would be a fool not to pull the trigger on that deal.

Well jeez, when you put it like that, I hope the Phillies go after him. Sounds exactly what our stat-obsessed front office is looking for. While theyโre at it, see what Hank Blalock is up to these days.

Juan Soto hits one that comes damned close to leaving Nationals Park. This kid is becoming a legend and he can't legally drink for two years.

Astros just hit back to back to back HRโs, Springer/Bregman/Altuve!!!! Altuve with 2 HRโs tonight, his average is now up to 348, what an amazing player he is. Charlie Morton pitching another brilliant game as well tonight for the Astros, their pitching has been phenomenal this season, better than last year, they are the best team in MLB still IMO, if they hang on and win tonight they will be the first team in MLB to reach 50 wins in 2018.
