The sad truth is there are only 2 GREAT Star Wars films, 2 acceptable Star Wars films, and the rest are trash.
Star Wars (1977) and The Empire Strikes Back (1980) are the only two Star Wars films that are GREAT.
The Return of the Jedi (1983) and The Revenge of the Sith (2005) are acceptable.
The following films (if not labeled as part of the Star Wars Franchise, and judged based on their own merit) would be considered forgettable trash.
The Phantom Menace The Attack of the Clones The Force Awakens The Last Jedi Rogue One and Solo
I wish FOX had kept the sole rights to Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back, and The Return of the Jedi and just released them as a separate trilogy. I was a Star Wars fan when it was just those three films in a trilogy. Now they are lumped in with the other films and new generations of kids think they are all as watered down as the rest.
Imagine if they made a Godfather prequel trilogy about the major families rising to power in the Mafia and Don Corleone ultimately taking his place as the head of his family, done as poorly as the first two Star Wars prequels? Then making a sequel trilogy about the kids regaining power in modern New York. Then making side midquels called "Hagan: A Godfather Story" or "Luca Brasi: A Godfather Story"... I mean, come on.

Ya can hardly call that an objective truth. That's just your opinion. Don't treat your opinion as fact.

The REAL truth is that we all have our own opinions for the movies.

I think Rogue One is one of the top 2 movies in the franchise. I think A New Hope is trash.
