Slimbridge and Shirehampton? I wish, that would be awesome... Sutton United and Boreham Wood. The closest we get to an international tournament is when we play a friendly over the bridge in South Wales.

Bonus question...
This won't be the first international cup competition that Sutton United have played in. They even won it one year (1980).
That cup competition doesn't exist anymore.
What was it🤔
Other winners have included Newcastle United, and AS Roma.

I have no idea what they're thinking, I suppose it's no more bizarre than having Irish and Welsh teams in it though. I win the internet - Sutton won the Anglo-Italian Cup.

Cmon Father - What former tournament did Sutton, Newcastle and Roma win ? What else could it be than the Anglo-Italian Cup ? and people think cricketers play for meaningless cups.......

Ooh, I like shiny things! I have two bonus questions for you -
1) speaking of highly prestigious international tournaments - which Scottish team did Chesterfield beat on their way to Anglo-Scottish Cup glory in 1981? 2) do you actually subscribe to the North Briton, as I like to call it? Even a free subscription is too much for me, as I find it absolutely dreadful.

You're just bitter because you didn't win the shiny thing. I’m not bitter - merely pointing out the absurdity of meaningless competitions ! Besides, I’d much rather a bowl of your curry or a free pass to an away fixture than a shiny thing !
