FOX is in bad shape, tho. Aside from DEADPOOL 2 they don't really have much, except for FX's Legions and New Mutants. And seeing they are spineless... well they also have their Apes series, as well as Alien. besides, Lawrence costs too much. I'll give you Apes but unless the new Alien movie is amazing... And her cost will take a cut soon, she is too expensive and she is not RDJ.

Superman returned to the silver screen in Bryan Singer's 2006 epic.... then he left for another seven years. Needless to say, this soft-reboot of the Superman franchise wasn't as successful as WB was hoping it would be. Does that make it a bad movie though? In my honest opinion, no. I firmly believe Superman Returns is one of the most underrated superhero films of all time. It was more character-driven, less action-packed, and somber. Audiences who saw it in Summer 2006 weren't looking for that, and as a result, it underperformed. Still a good movie though. Agreed! SR is Superman.

Not just that, but caving to her demands of less make-up, what the fuck happened to "Mutant and proud."? Oh, and the scene when the young mutants in the mansion stare in awe at her...? I swear I felt they were going to do the mocking jay whistle. i'd actually blame the studio for that one, they probably said "singer.....we only have one more film with THE Jennifer Lawrence so make sure she's in there, also she doesn't want to be in the makeup" now i do hope they recast to someone who actually wants to be there, rather than someone who was literally fucking trying to get McAvoy and Fassbender to leave with her, and shows no respect. so unprofessional. She really didn't have the gravitas in or out of the make up to warrant that type of awe. She just didn't have what it took to play Mystique. Too bubbly. Too soft. No real conviction. I don't know if it's because she just didn't have what it takes, or if she just didn't care much for the character. A nice paycheck. Rebecca Romijn had a grace, confidence, and coldness that made her perfect for the role. I didn't care for their attempts to make Mystique a hero to mutants.

You're correct that it had no action, while Man Of Steel maybe had too much action(?), but aside from that it was TOO in love with the Donner movies to go anywhere original, and in the one area where it did, the son, it failed. Ultimately its an inconsequential movie overall.
If you want to see Superman married and with a son, done right, read the current Rebirth comics. They're knocking it out of the park right now.
