I knew this was going to happen back when the season started. The NBA has become a pathetic 2 team league now.

Well, these Warriors are now 16-6 against the Cavs, 3 series to 1. I think the lack of capable competition for LeBron in the East is pretty bad for the league, & the Rockets probably would've been capable had they been healthy & played harder defense in every single game. So I wouldn't blame GSW & CLE specifically... & no I would not hold them alongside the 80's Celtics & Lakers either. I'd need to see the Warriors defeat a different team than the same 3 times for recent rings to look historically stronger.

You didn't know which one of those two teams was going to win. There's more intrigue in an episode of Gilligan's Island than there is in a whole NBA season. If you like drama, there isn't a more boring sport with possibly that Spanish soccer league where Barcelona or Real Madrid wins every single year. So fucking boring.

Since 2000 there have been 18 complete seasons in MLB and NHL for 12 and 11 different champions. There habe been 19 completed NFL seasons for 11 different champions. In those 3 sports combined there have been 3 instances of repeat champions, and that's if you count the 2000 Yankees (04-05 Pats and 16-17 Penguins are the other 2). NBA has had 19 completed seasons for 8 champions with 4 instances of repeat champions. You have to go all the way back to 1982-3 to reach 11 different champions. In that same time span 21 teams have won the WS, 17 have won the Stanley Cup and 15 have won the SB. The facts speak for themselves.

Actually, Atletico's re-emergence in recent years has made Spanish league much better in last few years. It's a 3 way contest now. The worst soccer league among the big ones is German Bundesliga which Bayern Munich is sure to win every year. NBA was not that bad this year. Cp3 curse though added to last minute disappointment. The bad thing with NBA is that GSW team is not loveable. No one takes delight in this annoying team's victory outside of its fans.

I just wonder how pathetic football (soccer leagues) are in terms of competition. You very often see repetition not just in home leagues but even in Europe wide leagues such as Champions League and Europa Cup. Football leagues absolutely suck. I love football as sport but the club level structure of that game is horrible.
In my opinion American system of salary cap is the way to go. I know one flaw with that system is that new teams can't enter in the first division leagues. I don't know how to fix that but salary cap adds a lot to make leagues competitive. After a long time I saw IPL cricket league this year and it was extremely interesting. Matches went right down to wire throughout the competition. That also is based on salary cap. So I have no doubt now that salary cap is the best system.

Soccer’s lack of a salary/transfer cap is indeed a problem. The big teams have a monopoly over elite players. If any promising talent emerges at a smaller club, he’ll quickly be snapped up by a big team who throw money around with impunity. Being a fan of a mid-table or lower club is essentially pointless. What on earth do they have to hope for every season? “Hey, maybe if we’re really lucky we could finish 8th! Or maybe even 7th! And possibly make a somewhat deep tournament cup run!” Yes, maybe they can. And the following offseason Manchester City or Real Madrid or PSG will buy their top players. It’s tiresome. The Leicester season was a once in a lifetime kind of miracle fluke.

I don't know about that. Baseball has no cap and has produced the most different champions. One of the keys is depth of quality players. Baseball has a lot of depth in talent or at least parity of talent (by which I mean the gap between run of the mill and elite is less than other sports) whereas there's an enormous gap between an elite NBA player and a run of the mill NBA player. Fewer teams would help.

Fewer teams would help. Baseball also has a draft system which helps weaker teams. Weaker teams in soccer just get relegated to lower leagues. Also correct me if I’m wrong but I don’t think MLB teams can simply “buy” players from other teams, they have to trade or wait until the players enter free agency.

Fewer teams would help. I don't know much about baseball but football (soccer) suffers a lot from disparity of finances between rich & poor clubs (as explained by SDM). In football there is very little sense of loyalty (there are people like Buffon but mostly there is no loyalty) and the reason for that is lack of salary cap and disparity between finances of clubs.

The last part's right you can only trade for players or buy them as free agents. I think the biggest problem in soccer is that you have clubs dependent on weekly gates and merchandise sales competing with multinational brandnames worth billions from the same pool of resources. And you're not just competing with massive brands from your own league, but every top flight league in Europe. Of course it doesn't work so far as parity goes.
