Yes, I definitely plan on giving this a shot. I like David Gordon Green's 'Your Highness' (2011) and 'Our Brand In Crisis' (2015). Quite enjoyed 'The Sitter' (2011). Need to see 'Manglehorn' (2014).

No
I do like the the stuff at the asylum though.
I am still interested, but only because David Gordon Green directs it. I am hoping the trailer is just misleading.

I've had a good feeling about this movie since they started announcing the people involved: David Gordon Green, Danny McBride, John Carpenter, Jamie Lee Curtis, Jason Blum, Judy Greer, Will Patton. Seeing the trailer has solidifed my excitement. This actually looks like it'll be a legitimately great Halloween movie! The movie has a great look to it, it has a much different look than most horror movies released recently. It neither has that gritty handheld look or that glossy, contrasty music video look. I love how Laurie has aged in this one, she's a truly traumatized, paranoid person. Most people I've encountered who have been through a traumatic event aren't total wrecks who can't function, they're like this, they function, they stay where they are close to their family, but they're emotionally distant, inwardly paranoid, and a little crazy outwardly. I love the panic room, I love the gun obsession, I love her saying she prayed Michael would escape. I love the visual nods to the original movie. I think this movie will be great.

Loved it. Looks really good. They just need to give it a proper title instead of just calling it Halloween again, which is stupid as hell.

Yes. I liked it and, not being too keen on the previous sequels, am glad that this one is being treated as a direct sequel to the 1978 film.

Its simple, distinguishes it somewhat from the earlier Rosenthal and Rob Zombie sequels and also hints at it being a direct sequel to the original film rather than just another entry in a long-running sequence of fright flicks.

There's things about it I feel mixed about -- like, what's the with the fucking teeth? Michael toys with his victims, yes, but save the eXtreme!! violence for Rob Zombie. Just didn't feel right. But the look of it seems just right, and I am certainly intrigued by the asylum stuff.
My butt was already going to be in that seat regardless, just like with every other goddamn bloody sequel this franchise has spawned.

Yes, as it looks like it might be decent enough to give it a chance.
p.s. for the record... I like Halloween (2007) (6/10) over the overrated Halloween (1978) (5/10).

JamesYeah, I kind of got that feeling given the trailer. but I may still like this 2018 movie if the general tone etc of it is done right which I think is partially what's got me a little interested based on the trailer.
