It's an objectively bad movie. There might be 2 scenes in the entire movie that weren't total suckage. I don't think it was, I think people are just still sour over Luke dying at the end instead of taking over the Sequels as the lead. It sucked from the first dialogue exchange until the last. The problem is not simply that Luke died or did little. It’s that what he did do was stupid and inconsistent. They didn’t even try to develop or expand his character. He was just there for stupid jokes. It was a very bad film. |

Luke has pretty much become an old drunk and given up on life and forgot who he was. Before anybody brings return of the jedi he was just defending himself against vader and said he saw the good in him,you can't justify Him pulling his saber while Kylo was sleeping.
All the characters are badly written. Also many of them are cowards or idiots.
