That's right, the draw for the first round of the Carabou Cup takes place this Friday morning at 10.45am BST/GMT. It's an unseeded draw this season but will be regionalized. WBA will be in there, thanks to finishing bottom of the Premier League; Stoke and Swansea will enter in round two.
For the second season in a row a draw will be made overseas, this time in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. It follows the farcical proceedings when the third round draw took place in Bejing last year at 04.15 UK time, amid hilarious mispronunciation of team names, Charlton Athletic being shown on screen as playing two games, streaming problems and general incompetence.
This time Dennis Wise, Steve McMahan and Louis Saha will be present to ensure things run smoothly, so that's reassuring, what?
I forone can't wait and have already cancelled an important hospital appointment to view the draw live on Twatter.
