I didn´t like at all:
Crash Slumdog Millionaire
Chicago isn´t that terrible, but it´s not Oscar worthy IMO.

I watched the 81 telecast and it was a shocker that Chariots of Fire won-though not so much now given the politics to the whole thing. Chariots of Fire is like the middle of the road between Raiders' cartoon WW 2 story and Reds commie fiesta.
Raiders of the Lost Ark won the audience poll vote done by Entertainment Tonight (I was one of those that voted--when we called, the show producer was taking the calls personally and was impressed someone from Canada was watching the show-since it had just started--they said they would personally register the vote for us).
Most Best Picture winners seem to be on the forgettable side. If you run through the list, very few would be considered audience-pleasers Ben-Hur, a few others.

Slumdog Millionaire was just kinda meh for me, although it's the only Best Picture winner I can think of with so much liquid feces!
The Broadway Melody seemed kinda slapped together, with very little polish one has come to expect from a musical or a Best Picture winner.
