The pedos, the terrorists, the mass shooters and the ice addicts in these shows? These are criminals that are on the news day and night but they are nowhere to be found in these shows or movies. What is the point of having superheroes when they don't go after the people causing the most problems in the world? I want to see them suffer for failing the city.

I guess these shows want to be escapist fantasy that want to distance themselves from the darker crimes in life. Which is for the best. These shows handle serious problems with all the skill and subtlety of an after school special.

I think Josh is cjdull76 is right. Although I have often wondered that too and the odd thing is we actually do see all the people you mentioned in the comic books and Supergirl, Wonder Woman, Batgirl, Batwoman and Black Canary have all dealt with rapists and Supergirl once told a rapist if she saw him again she would tear his nuts off and shove them down his throats. Then in the comic books it has always been a known fact Mad Hatter is a pedophile and they never show him dong anything thankfully but it is said he kidnaps young girls he believes are Alice, rapes and tortures them and when he is finished with them he kills them but in 'Gotham' they removed that. The only movies I can think of where they have had superheroes beating up or killing rapists are 'The Crow' movies and The Crow saved two women and a young girl from being raped in the first three movies and killed them and he also killed a guy who was sexually abusing his daughter. I think we will see people like that in Rob Cohen's 'Razor' movie. In the Razor comics she kills people like that all the time and she has had criminals try to rape her and cut their penises and testicles off when they have exposed them to her.

It's interesting how comics are looked down upon as a medium for kids, yet they embrace topics that film and television will not touch. Though I think this has more to do with the general audience not knowing what goes on in comics and having certain ideas of how these characters should act which the studios continue to enforce with their adaptions.

and here I was about to make a joke about how we sent many of them to Australia back in the day...not true back then such crimes were punishable by death so we never sent that scum anywhere, still I wanted to make a joke about Australia...

True. I have read a lot of comic books over the years by different companies and what I have seen in comic books is far more violent than anything I have seen in movies and TV shows but a lot of people see comic books as being something that is made only for children 'cause of superheroes and they are surprised when they see how far some comic books go with violence, blood, guts, gore, sex and nudity. There are comic books that also have sex scenes that are pornographic and show everything they are not allowed to show in mainstream movies and they are definitely not meant to be read by children. What is interesting though is DC does get really violent in their comic books. Batman, Batgirl, Birds of Prey, Nightwing, Batwoman, Red Hood and the Outlaws, Catwoman, Deathstroke, Harley Quinn and even Teen Titans have been known to get very violent in some issues and there were parents who were complaining over the 'Batgirl' series by Gail Simone 'cause of how violent it was and she had to speak out and say it wasn't written for children.

Supergirl (both Linda and Kara) are very different in the comic books as I am sure I have told you before and Supergirl has flown people up into the sky and dropped them and caught them right before they fell and used her heat vision to burn them until they have told her what she needed to know. She has also ripped people's heads off with her two hands and kissed decapitated heads in front of other people while they freaked out to see what happened to them.

The TV shows has the personality of Kara all wrong. She' more like her cousin Kal then herself. Not sure why they thought that was a good idea.

Damn. Comic book Supergirl sounds hardcore. Still, she could've done something even worse...

Gosh and people wonder why the CW or CBS didn't go with that version of the character for a show aimed at teens and young girls.
Although blimey do I want to see a DC animated movie of THAT Supergirl because it sounds brilliant.

Am I the only one enjoying the fact that a post entitled "Where are the rapists?" is consistently at the top?
That has to cause some double takes for first time visitors.
