She has also ripped people's heads off with her two hands and kissed decapitated heads in front of other people while they freaked out to see what happened to them.
So...basically this? Yeah. That's more like it.

Yeah. Far more extreme. Supergirl (both Linda and Kara) are very different in the comic books as I am sure I have told you before and Supergirl has flown people up into the sky and dropped them and caught them right before they fell and used her heat vision to burn them until they have told her what she needed to know. She has also ripped people's heads off with her two hands and kissed decapitated heads in front of other people while they freaked out to see what happened to them.
Gosh and people wonder why the CW or CBS didn't go with that version of the character for a show aimed at teens and young girls.
Although blimey do I want to see a DC animated movie of THAT Supergirl because it sounds brilliant.
The 'Supergirl/ Linda Danvers' comic books are pretty graphically violent but a lot of comic books I have read over the years and 'Razor' which the lead actress for the movie has just been revealed for had lots of violence, blood, guts, gore and explicit sex scenes and nudity in it and in the 90s and 00s a lot of writers went all out with everything they couldn't do before 'cause of the Comic Code Authority blocked them and it was brilliant. Horror series thrived and when the Comic Code Authority was introduced back in 1954 it was the Horror comic books that suffered the most 'cause they had to cut down on all the blood and gore which they shouldn't have had to 'cause they were writing comic books for adults. I am not sure why the Comic Code Authority had such a problem with that for so many decades 'cause they only really needed to establish that the comic books weren't for children which they do now with warning stickers. What I do know is a lot of comic book writers hated it and were happy they weren't controlled anymore.
I think making a 'Supergirl' show aimed at a young audience was a mistake 'cause most of the 'Supergirl' comic books aren't for that audience and haven't been for a long time. They should have gone for an M rating at least or the same rating 'Supernatural' has 'cause that show gets away with a lot of things like that.

I don't disagree but it is a case of who was greenlighting this stuff, CBS isn't CW a lot of their shows for adults are tame and a bit silly, and they are who wanted Supergirl to begin with, they clearly wanted to attract a young female demo to their network and Supergirl likely made the most sense for what they could get, atleast to them because they could just do Superman in a skirt to attract young girls, which is annoying, mostly because it works, when the CW took it over they had the issue of it already having a sense and tone set up, they altered it how they could to better represent their network by making certain changes but still their working within the framework established, which is sad because fuck it CW you had Flashpoint you could have reengineered all these shows and made the first mass crossover fucking epic, but nooooo you had to go and....*20 minutes of ranting later*and that's why you don't deserve swamp thing CW, that's why!!...so where was I?
Oh yeah Supergirl, it is what it is, silly thing is for existing fans it's probably not a great interpretation of what it was originally but I imagine it has brought a lot more eyes to the character than the comics have managed to do in the last decade, so take the good with the bad, as for Supernatural they get away with a lot but because of context, Sam or Dean hell Crowley or Cas being dickish can be accepted because their fighting to stop Lucifer or this demon that Leviathan from destroying the world, consuming humanity and so on, Supergirl as you often describe her doesn't seem to often give a shit about humanity, so she kind of doesn't have the same lenience's applied to her behaviour, TV is weird like I recall a Carling interview or something where he said that you can and cant say the same word but in different context, like you could say "man I am so pissed off right now!, but you couldn't say when someone asks why "because you just pissed on my shoes", same with fuck and stuff, and something else but apparently on a WWE PPV years back Matt Hardy Vs. Zach Gowen caused the PPV to be rated higher simply because in their match & storyline Matt's behaviour wasn't shown leniency because he won, so it enforced a message that it's ok to mock and mistreat handicapped people so long as you can beat them up, which I find hilarious myself.
So Supergirl ripping off ppl's heads or heatvisioning their nuts for trying to rape someone is less excusable because she ultimately a lot of the time seems to hate humanity as much as the next villain, she just does it because she can, that's not a good message so it would probably receive a higher rating for certification, though fans would also rate it higher cause that shit sounds awesome.

Yeah. You make a good point about ‘Supergirl’ with CBS and the original ‘Supergirl’ spinoff show with Laura Vandervoort was meant to be on CW Network and air at the same time of the year as Season 9 of ‘Smallville’ with Clark and other ‘Smallville’ characters guest appearing in some episodes but from what I read the President of the network at the time (who is no longer there now) mislead Laura and the producers to believe the show was going to happen and they kept putting it off and putting it off until Laura moved on to other things and signed up for the leading role in ‘Bitten.’ Not a lot is known about the original ‘Supergirl’ spinoff show apart from some of the things I have talked about on here before but one of the people involved in it said they had written some episodes and were waiting to film it.
When they put the new ‘Supergirl’ show together I read their original choice was Laura Vandervoort for the role of Kara but she was too busy doing ‘Bitten’ so they had to go with a different actress and they also originally tried to get this show picked up by the CW Network but CW turned it down and it got picked up by CBS not long after. At the time the CW Network didn’t want any more superhero TV shows but that obviously changed later since they picked ‘Supergirl’ up but I think the script changed sometime between then and when they started it with the intentions of having Laura Vandervoort in the leading role to Gemma Atkinson to Melissa Benoist ‘cause if they had got Laura like they wanted I think it would have been a continuation to ‘Smallville’ like the original spinoff show was meant to be but it probably would have been based years later since Kara went to the future in Season 10.
I think CBS made them change the script to have it that she had been on earth for years and grew up with a human family to try and make the character more relatable to younger viewers but by doing it they ultimately lost a big part of the Kara Zor-El character. With Kara in the comic books she did care about humanity but when she first woke up on earth she didn’t trust anybody –she didn’t even trust Clark at first ‘cause she was looking for a young boy and couldn’t believe how much he changed and they fought and she beat him up until he convinced her it was him and he told Kara what happened to Krypton and she didn’t believe him and went up in space to see it for herself. When Kara returned to earth she was heartbroken and angry and wanted to find out who destroyed Krypton and make them pay.
Kara saw the worst of humanity during her first few days on earth and she couldn’t understand why Clark went out of his way to save them all the time and had such faith in them and she saw them as being beneath her but after spending more time with humans and making friends she comes to like humans and wants to save people and be a superhero like her cousin. The difference was Kara does not share all the same beliefs as Clark and that lead to them fighting in the comic books sometimes. For example, Kara doesn't know much about humans and earth and feels like a stranger on earth, she doesn't know anything about pop culture which leads people to ask when she is undercover if she is from another planet and she often says she comes from a town far away, she is full of a lot of anger and rage over what happened to Krypton and all the years she missed out on and she takes out that rage on villains, she spends most of her time in the sky searching for villains to fight with, she doesn't hold back with her powers and will burn people or freeze them if they piss her off or don't tell her what she wants to know and she will kill if she thinks it is the best way of stopping a villain. The last one is something Superman and Superman used to fight about the most 'cause Clark doesn't believe in killing where Kara does and thinks by not killing more villains Clark just makes it harder for himself when they get out and he has to stop them again.

I don't think the writers know 1/4 of what Deb knows about Supergirl.

Too be fair though more than 50% of the knowledge Deb posses on the subject is dangerous for the average human mind, Deb's just a remarkable person who can contain such knowledge, they are but once in a generation.

Well that depends...has she decapitated Clancy Brown at some point? given he's still making stuff I find it unlikely, unless they perfected the Futurama head in a bowl thing in which case yes,, yes she has won The Prize...although she's an aussie that could simply mean she won a jar of vegemite and a sausage so who knows.

While it is known as bad as what they did with 'Birds of Prey' which was give it to writers who had never read the comic books and had no idea what to do with the characters it is far from perfect and they should have studied the character more.

Thanks Dazz and while I wouldn't go as far to say the knowledge I possess is dangerous for the average human mind but I am a kook so I can handle things some other people can't and I have a better memory with comic book storylines I have read over the years than movies 'cause I have read some of them multiple times and used to read a lot of comic books I got multiple times.

We can blame the writers all we like but who puts those people in charge of writing shows? That's the real headscratcher. Who thought Olicity and Karamello were good ideas?

Speaking of the rapists, turns out they're on Rick and Morty. Sadly they are everywhere and wherever they are you can expect their friends, the rape apologists to be right behind them defending their every action and making them out to be victims. I think rape apologists are nearly just as bad as the rapists and most of them are probably future or rapists themselves that weren't caught.

I meant on television. I was trying to avoid real life because that's too depressing and infuriating. But yeah, you're absolutely right. Though I think it's hard to worse then a rapist. Though the rape apologist do seem to want to try.
