Somehow, I thought this discussion was going to be about promoting: God, Religion, and LIFE AFTER DEATH...

Chris Hemsworth played one of the protagonists I recall. Ya but in the first ghostbusters the receptionist was a female, while the 4 men were the heroes. Now both those things were reversed. You got some guy as the receptionist while the 4 female heroes go out and save the day, from a white villain who they defeat. This movie is anti men , and pro woman. It's anti -white, pro minority.
Not that I have a problem with it, it is what it is. So now all the male characters are either passive or a villain, and all the heroes are either a white female or minority female.
Not that I got a problem with it, it seems agenda to me, lol. Am I wrong?

My God that's ridiculous. Find something more worthwhile to be offended by.

Well it's usually blue, but there was a lot of overcast today.

No it is not. I do however like how it has offended some insecure, scared little white men

I didn't see it, because it looked like s<>t and it would have looked like s<>t, even if the Ghost Busters were male. All it propagates, is the s<>t that Hollywood can churn out.

You are aware of that by claiming Ghostbusters to be propaganda, you are also admitting to that films with white males as the main characters, are propaganda against females and minorities? Are you okay with that type of propaganda?
I must say that it is so damn interesting, that if a female plays in an action scene fighting some guy, people like you react like "But she is female, there is no way in hell she could win against a man!", but when you watch a male hero falling of a cliff with his car and then exiting it unharmed, you go "Totally believable!". When are you going to realise that it's not documentaries?

Yes, in the same way that movies with white male protagonists are propaganda.

Yes, there was an agenda present...an attempt to make money by exploiting a beloved classic.

Yes, you are wrong unless you also want to make the point that the original film had an even more sinister agenda by casting three white guys in the lead roles while the women are either the receptionist or a helpless victim who needs male ghostbusters to rescue her - and I am sure that WAS the case although unconsciously. Your whole thread has an agenda, namely white male supremacy, one of the key pillars of conservatism. The method consists of whining about how white males are being hurt whenever women or minorities get major movie roles and awards. According to the right-wing extremists, white male actors are somehow being disenfranchised if women or African-Americans get leads or awards. That argument makes no sense unless seen in the context of conservative Old White Men rule. There is no legitimate reason to consider a gender-switching remake (or African-American themed movies) to be in any way subversive unless conservative white male supremacy is made the major issue.

It was more like an ill conceived and badly written attempt to cash in on the popularity of the original two films. Along with a sometimes funny cast who because of the script were not funny.
I will argue that if Indiana Jones is rewritten as a female lead then yes, there is definitely a conspiracy afoot, and Hollywood is indeed lacking in ideas.

Your whole thread has an agenda, namely white male supremacy, one of the key pillars of conservatism.
It is corporate studios who have a social engineering propaganda agenda.
Real art reflects truths about life and Nature. That is why it is immutable. We can still understand Homer or Shakespeare today because they wrote about things that remain constant. Human nature, behavior etc.
So while Stoker's Dracula is about a supernatural creature, it is up to capable men in the society to deal with the threat to the community and neutralize it. This is not a conservative agenda-it is physics. Truth. Who else is going to face such a threat? The weakest people in society?
There has not been a faithful basic version of Dracula done by any Hollywood studio since 1958 (though made in England by an English company) because the idea that a community is in danger from a foreigner is considered unPC to the studio bosses who were (and still are) sympathetic to communism. Depending on the studio ownership, the themes of the stories would be tailored towards their POV.
So RKO made The Thing From Another World-in which military people have to defend the earth from an alien threat, and stop an overworked scientist from risking everyone's lives.
FOX on the other hand, made The Day The Earth Stood Still-where a good alien comes to earth to save humans from themselves (especially the military) and a scientist is one of those who knows the alien is on the right track.
Hollywood made lots of films from 1960 on where the male protagonist dies or loses (from Spartacus to 2001 to French Connection to Earthquake) and then when success themes came back, the heroes were either neurotic (Brody in Jaws), the wimpy farmer boy who needs magic (Luke in Star Wars), or an alien (Superman) or a woman (ALIEN) or an archeologist with a pedo scandal in his past who gets ripped off by his own government (Indiana Jones) and later has to reconcile with his father--that scene in Last Crusade where Indiana Jones is acting like a little kid as he reaches for the Grail and his father tells him to let it go--you would NEVER have seen Gregory Peck or Charlton Heston or Errol Flynn or any other older generation star behave like a little child and need advice from his old father to show some common sense!
Communism preaches that Nature can be subverted, and that multiculturalism is better than homogeneity--which tends to run counter to the themes in 2000 plus years of western art and literature. Part of this agenda is that males, especially white males, cannot be shown to be independent, confident or successful.
If Hemsworth was making movies in the 1960s, he would likely be working in Europe doing what Richard Harrison or Stewart Granger or Ty Hardin did, because someone like him would have limits in Hollywood-he might play Tarzan on tv or a divorced cop or something like that.
Modern Hollywood will not tolerate a strong white male lead unless he has a multicultural crew or neurosis.

Modern Hollywood will not tolerate a strong white male lead unless he has a multicultural crew or neurosis. lol. Yep, well said. It is basic Conservatism 101 and people should start paying close attention to it. If they did, if they learned what conservatism was really all about, no Republican would ever get elected again. What we have expressed here is a political philosophy of white supremacy. White MALE domination. Women need to pay attention. Minorities need to pay attention. All citizens need to pay attention. This is the philosophy that undergirds law enforcement in the U.S. The acting out of White Supremacy by cops is why black athletes kneel. It is also why conservative politicians are so supportive of their police force. So, who are the Trump supporters who lap up this trash. Mostly, they are people who are scared and confused about a changing world, and resentful that privileges they once took for granted seem to be disappearing. Republican politicians and the right-wing “news” media keep repeating this message that a society of equal rights and opportunity for everyone somehow diminishes rights and opportunities for men and white people. Make America Great Again means going back to the era of McCarthyism, segregation, limited women’s rights, the growth of the US Military industrial complex, the repression of the LGTBQ communities and a return to the decades of unchecked straight, white, male power. Returning to a movie discussion, this (what the quote above is saying) is what is meant whenever anyone posts about how the Oscars are “political” (as if major movie roles and awards going only to white males would NOT be “political”). Don’t take that crap. Call them out every time.
