as opposed to junk foods that are NOT full of fat, salt and/or sugar? that is the point of junk food. You answered your own question. Why eat foods that are not good for you, when there are so many that are? what own question did i answer? i didn't ask a question that was meant to be answered by anyone. if a junk food is light in fat, salt and sugar, then it isn't a junk food. duh! you can't live on health foods alone, especially when these so called health foods are in fact destroying you. haha. doritoes please. most of these so called healthy fruits are in fact high in sugar. sugar is sugar no matter how it is served. enjoy that apple and the nearly 14g carbs, 19g sugars and nearly nothing in terms of vitamins.

Yes, you can and should. ( though the odd sweet salty fatty treat won't harm you if it is truly occasional) If you do, you will live longer, have fewer diseases, be happier and look better. It looks like it will have to be rival BMI Indexes at dawn! BTW your nutritional knowledge is crap! www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/267290.php

I love all sorts of meats, but have never liked any sort of ham. Cheesecake - the cream cheese ruins it for me. Asparagus and okra - people seem to love these, for whatever reason. I have no idea how you have come to conclusion that cheesecake is overrated. We can only judge a food as being overrated from our subjective point of view. If there are many people who like cheesecake then the cheesecake is not overrated. The only way one can judge a food to be overrated in general is if there is an objective criteria to measure its nutritional benefits and the food doesn't stand on its reputation.
I don't think cheescake is ever believed to be a healthy food so it can't be judged overrated in regards to its nutritional 'benefits'. Green tea on the contrary can be considered overrated if you see that the marketers of green tea have often indulged in marketing it as one stop solution to most of your health problems. But actually green tea doesn't provide you as much benefit as it has been claimed to provide in popular culture. Same with fresh orange juice. The trade off between vitamin c and sugar is not overly positive for consumers. Sure it might help people who are deficient in vitamin c but to general people it doesn't do as much wonder as is often claimed.
Foods like burger, pasta, pizza etc. may be very bad from health pov but they are not overrated.

I just don't like the taste of cheesecake and it sucks when you get cake, take a bite, and it turns out to be cheesecake. And people always act like it's something extra special. "Guess what we have for dessert? Cheesecake!" And some even have it flown in from New York, as if that makes a difference.

sushi and other raw eaten foods. how can you be sure that these things are safe from bacteria? I'm with the royal family on this. salmon. god the stench is just so off putting. all these 'superfoods' which in reality are super killing you! ha ha. pass my doritos, please. gourmet foods that are too pretty to eat. are you on a cruise? is this a wedding? gross, slippery, sloppy foods: like tacos. i love tacos and what goes in them but they are just so fucking messy. I am with you on those sloppy foods. I hate getting foods where I feel like I need a pack of 200 napkins at my side and then feel like I have to jump in the shower afterwards. Where we disagree is on sushi. I love it!

Classic line from B-movies: "If we get out of this alive, I promise to buy us both a steak dinner!" Big deal--I hate steak and don't get why it's such a coveted meal. Give me a plate of lasagna, or even spaghetti, instead.
I love seafood, including mussels, oysters, anchovies, etc. But eating the meat from a lobster tail seems too much to me like eating the insides of a giant cockroach. No thanks.
Pop-Tarts. I know they're junk, but they're not even good junk.
Cola, whether Pepsi, Coke, or some other brand--tastes like syrup, and less fizz than other soft drinks.

But the way the thread turned out it seemed as if there is some objective criteria and mutual agreement that certain foods are overrated. When actually any food is only overrated in our subjective opinions. Unless of course you set up some objective criteria to establish certain benefits that foods must provide and overrated fail on those criteria.
When it comes to taste and my subjective criteria then caramel seems overrated. As for seafood, I like some of them and don't like some of them. Chilled coke on a hot day feels divine.

Honestly I don't mind it as much if I"m alone at home. THat's no problem. I just don't like that when I'm with somebody else or out in public. That's why I don't get wings or ribs much. They don't fall apart on you obviously, but they are a huge mess. I have not had a taco in sooooo long. The last real messy thing I had was a pulled pork hot dog. A mess but it was awesome

Definitely raw sushi. I never got its appeal. Secondly, the Pepsi drink. It doesn't taste all that great to me.

Better? I never mentioned that. That seems to be your hangup. Healthier? probably though such a value judgement might need a doctor and some tests, and possibly be relative to age. I am 66, walk 20-30 kms per week am 170cms tall and weigh 65kgs and hence my BMI is 22.5. You?
