Argentina, one of the outright favourites will hope to kick off the tournament with a winning start, Messi with a point to prove possibly, not to match Ronaldo necessarily but to finally get that world cup trophy for country and prove once and for all that he's the GOAT (to some anyway). Can they match or improve on their WC 2014 run?
Iceland are no slouches though and can be tough competition but I think the Argies will be too much for them.

I'm going for a big win for Argentina. At least 3 - 0, maybe 4. Argentina's defense and midfield is pretty weak, but their attack is phenomenal. If you want to win you need to play in an attacking mode in order to put pressure on Argentina's weak defense. But Iceland is a defensive team and with attacking players like Messi & Aguero, Iceland's defense doesn't stand a chance.

There’s nothing in football quite like the long throw - and Iceland are the masters of it. Long throws for some reason turn hard nosed professional defenders into petrified girlymen freaking out and what to do. It’s so strange. That and offside is out the window - therefore it gives them another interesting dimension......
