1998 - Argentina 2 - 2 England ^ It was awesome. One of my favourites.
I also liked S Korea vs Portugal in 2002. Does anyone remember that slightly bizarre match?

My favourite ever is probably the 2006 semi between Italy and Germany.
I can't really remember more than that.
Did really enjoy the 2014 semi between Brazil and Germany too though.

I think most of us are simply jealous of Brazil. So even though Germany itself has won 5 world cups and is not the most likeable team as it also lays claim to being the greatest, we still saw that match as death of some legend. It was as if Brazil was stripped of its pride and dignity. We all loved it.

What happened in that one? SK did amazing that WC, did they beat Portugal too? The match was played at a very fast pace and there were two red cards shown to Portugal players. The next day Korean embassy was attacked in Lisbon.
Many matches of S Korea were controversial. Italy still whines about it even after 16 years (and rightly so). S Korea's victory over Italy was extremely controversial too. Many allegations were made on refereeing. In the S Korea vs Italy match Francesco Totti was red carded for no great deal, one Korean player elbowed Del Piero and got away with it, one Italian goal was declared offside and many fouls by Koreans went unpunished. Many people believed that world cup was very poorly officiated.

What happened in that one? SK did amazing that WC, did they beat Portugal too? To answer your question, yes Koreans won against Portuguese (1-0) and sent them out of group stage. I particularly remember this match because of the extreme pace at which it was played.
