I have been seeing clips from this show pop up in my feeds showing some funny clips, to vampires exploding. I'm a fan of horror movies so I decided to binge watch the series. I watched all 7 season of this show in a matter of a few weeks. I really liked the seasons 1-4 and it seemed more funny, and enjoyable to watch. The shows from seasons 5-7 got well somewhat dull, boring, no humor, and lost what the other seasons had going for them. The last two seasons it felt like they didn't know how to close it out, finish the characters stories, and tie it all together. I'm not going to down this series and say you shouldn't watch it, but the first few seasons was really good. I did like the cast, and thought they all worked together. This show has it all vampires, werewolves, cat people, shapeshifters, fairies, ghosts, gods, witches, bible thumpers, and tons of nudity. It was an interesting show to watch, funny lines, jokes, and just a fun show to watch. I did finding it annoying when they had the vampire Godfrey speaking with Eric in viking and no subtitles on the old language. This also happened in a few other spots in the show. What did you think of the folding up/down fangs? Anyone else watch it? I only had a few questions that have been on my mind.... True Blood Questions Season 7 Who was Sookie's husband?
If Sookie was knocking boots with a fairy/vampire how come she didn't get knocked up?
The same question as before, but with the werewolf guy.
If Bill drinks Lilith's blood does that mean he's a god? Wouldn't the vampires seek him out for his blood when he died? Whatever became of the cat people?
After all the vampires died down, did the town go back to being somewhat normal?
Did Hoyt become a vampire after marrying Jessica at the end of the series?
If vampires cry blood, does that mean in the bathroom..sorry..never just popped into my mind.

I Liked most every front runner of the show with Tara warming to me later on. in the beginning I was sick of her immediately calling racism on like every single white person she encountered. then would become indignant when her racism and stupid assed behavior would get her fired from her 'you have to blow the place up to be fired from it' job.
loved laffayette.
I tried getting into this and I got into first season fine but lost interest soon after.

I quite liked it. I thought it kind of muddled its own message, though.
Early on at least, it was doing the X Men thing - making Vampires a repressed minority, disliked and distrusted by the mainstream. AKA gays, blacks, etc. They didn't push the minority analogy all that hard as the show went on, but they pretty much always stuck to the idea that we should be treating Vampires as equal to everyone else and anybody who didn't was just a plain old bigot.
But you can't really do that... and then go on to show that the oppressed group are a bunch of evil murderers! Every single Vampire we ever saw on this show was up to no good. Every one of them used their hypno powers against people constantly. Pretty much every one of them murdered people - even the Vamps we were supposed to think of as "good guys" like Bill and Jessica. From everything they showed us, people were absolutely right to distrust Vampires, and the terrible religious bigots trying to murder them were the actual good guys!
Still, it was a fun show. I always enjoyed watching it, I liked their sense of humour and I liked all the splashy gore. I'm glad I watched it.

Loved it, except I hated the final season.

I thought the first season was definitely the best.
I really liked the character of Pam.
Sam got some of the best kills on the show (Season 2 final, Season 5 final).

I thought seasons 1, 2 & 4 were great! The rest were passable at worst, never truly bad. Season 7 Who was Sookie's husband? If Sookie was knocking boots with a fairy/vampire how come she didn't get knocked up? The same question as before, but with the werewolf guy. 1) They don't reveal his identity because he's meant to be just a normal guy. 2) Condoms/Birth control pills, I guess.

Good show. It went really dumb in the mid and late seasons but was usually mostly enjoyable. I miss the show. I recall season 7 improved quite a bit in quality though, and started getting really good again, except for some dumb stuff like killing a certain major character off screen for some reason. And of course the series finale. Probably the worst series finale I have ever seen.

What did you think of the folding up/down fangs? Was cool, but also kind of creepy.
I haven't seen the show since it ended, apart from clips so I'll try my best. Look forward to rewatching the show some time in the future though.
Ye. He was a random never seen before character wasn't he? Probably one of the reasons why the finale was so bad. All the love triangle/quadrangle stuff for 7 years and she ends up with some random? Dumb. Dunno. Magic? Good question. Dunno. I don't recall there being cat people in the show. Dunno. Dunno.

I tried getting into this and I got into first season fine but lost interest soon after. The first season was fantastic. I remember back in like early 2010 or so, I picked up 2 TV show pilots whose shows had been on for a few years and I decided to watch both, the one which I thought was better would be the TV show I would watch/catch up on first. The shows were Breaking Bad and True Blood. True Blood won. I haven't seen True Blood since, but I guess it just goes to show how good it must have been since the Breaking Bad pilot is awesome.
Lafayette was amazing. I recently found out that the actor Nelsan Ellis died last year at only 39. Sad stuff. He did such a great job with that character.
