No but it also won't feel sad either. Unpopular take: I think the success of Doctor Strange, Ant-Man, etc, is in part due to their attachment on the current Thanos macro arc train if you will. They're fully welcomed alongside Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk... so I think audiences want them to succeed to be credible peers. The worst MCU films I think have been Thor & Thor 2, & Thor is one of the lead heroes of IW so his standalone malaise meant very little damage. That Thanos ride ends in 2019. I hope there are seeds for a new engaging macro arc to be planted as early as 2020. Otherwise it's just throwing cards in the air. X-Men &/or Fantastic Four injection would certainly help, to keep known legacy heroes alongside popular Black Panther, Captain Marvel, & of course Spider-Man. It'll be both easy & expected that the MCU keep trying to mirror realistic geopolitical fervor, to remain timely. More Stark-Rogers type conflicts of interest would also serve everyone well. The age of infallible heroes is well gone. a. It's starting to feel sad... Black Panther 2 might feel too overqualified now. b. Multiverse of Madness + Love & Thunder haven't been very credible torch bearers. c. We're just throwing cards in the air still. d. MCU need dial back its levity around every last corner & get back to nuance & gravitas. And fewer fcuking streaming series.

To be honest, had NWH not come out when it did I have a feeling a good chunk of the fans would not have survived the 1-2-3 combo of Eternals, MoM and Thor L&T.

If Guardians 3 is another Lego Movie style like L&T, it's over.
