rewatched recently and it is a lot better than I remembered it. Dustin Hoffman does an amazing job here channeling Robert Evens for his character. And all the supporting cast is great too.
The movie seems a lot more relevant now than it did twenty years ago.
It's not a perfect movie. Barry Levinson isn't always a director on form. But I think this is one of his better movies that most people forget about.

I like it. Barry Levinson is a textbook example of hit and miss. From Rain Man, Bugsy and Sleepers to found footage POS movies. Wag the Dog and Sphere are the last movies of his I still enjoy.
Edit: And I liked Pacino's performance in Levinson's TV movie called You Don't Know Jack.

I really like Wag the Dog. Any kid must watch it, just to know what world we are living in.

It's an excellent satire, and like you, I was surprised when I rewatched it a couple of years ago because I had forgotten how good it was. Great cast, and the song by Willie Nelson is just killer. Thanks for reminding me, I think I'll rewatch it again soon

I think it's a great flick. I love how they all had lame excuses for not voting. And Woody Harrelson was perfect for his role.
