"Dave Melter of the Wrestling Newsletter is reporting that this was not done at Cass’ request. In fact, Meltzer reports that Vince McMahon called a meeting at Smackdown in Toledo, Ohio today and then fired Cass. Presumably, Cass was there when he got the news today."
While I don't like to see people lose their jobs, him being let go is really a relief for me. I never got what WWE saw in him anyways. I thought he had a horrible look, no charisma, no real in ring talent, and no mic skills. He literally was just a big dude and that's it. I certainly won't miss him.

Some people belong in tag teams. Big Cass was one of those people.

Damn. No wonder why he wasn't on Smackdown last night. I thought he was gonna show up and get some payback on Daniel Bryan, but I guess not. Man, he never got a real chance to shine. Every time he tried to go solo, he ended up being the one getting the "short" end of the stick, not his opponents like Enzo Amore or Daniel Bryan. It's too bad, because I wanted to see him start going against wrestlers his size, or at least close to it.

If true, can't say I'm surprised. His pal Enzo's gone and Cass has been a total bust. Drop this dead weight.

Interestingly enough, after getting released neither guy got the "wish them the best in future endeavors" which is telling that neither were very well liked. Cass apparently went off script a few weeks back beating up the little person in his segment which he was told not to do but did anyways. Then apparently there was an issue of him knocking down the bathroom door on a bus because he got locked in and thought it was a rib and got upset. I certainly won't miss him. So much more talent to feature on the roster than to waste time with Cass.
