The Senegal fans do this as well.
I always do a bit of a litter pick around the area I have stood after games.

I always walk them before a game, so they've already done their business. They are good boys and do their own litter picking... Not a dropped chip, bit of sausage, or discarded pie crust is left behind to blight a ground.

To be serious. The grounds I go to are volunteer run. Nobody gets paid to clean up. If everyone picked up just a couple of bits of litter on their way out, it would go a long way to help the clubs out.
I do the whole sideline after Shire home games. It does get noted, and gets you respect and favours from the club, on top of simply being the right thing to do, especially at Penpole Lane, as the ground is open, and adjoins a designated wildlife corridor.

I don't like litter. Bristol Downs is a fecking disgrace after a sunny Summer Sunday... A sea of discarded booze cans and bottles. Left barbecues, food packaging, picnic remains. Its bloody unsightly, and a danger to wildlife.
It boils my piss. There's bins all over the Downs. They carry it all the way up there alright, then when it's all empty, and a damn sight lighter, they can't seem to manage to carry it 100m to a bin.

Edinburgh is really bad for people just chucking their crap in the street and not picking up after their dogs have a shit. 35% of the population are Orcs.

I got pissed today when I saw a Portuguese player coming off the pitch for a substitute unwrap tape on his wrist and when he was done he just dropped it on the field.
I wanted to smack him.
