I've never even been to one. I've never even lived close to one. Even now, I think the closest one is several hours away.
I often wonder if there is a market for them because of many peoples affinity for things from their childhood?

My town has a drive in. I haven't been there in years though. I remember seeing Major League and Jason Takes Manhattan, The Sandlot and Ace Ventura Pet Detective as well as Halloween 6 there.

Spent many a fun evening at the drive in as a teen. We kinda watched the movies sometimes. But it was more an extension of cruising back in the early 80's. It as all shenanigans back then I tell you!

A few times before to the ones closer around my area. The latest movies that I saw at a drive-in are Jurassic World, Hush, and Bridget Jones' Baby.

Me and a friend went out with two Chics to the drive in. We didn't really wanna pay for everyone or maybe we didn't have enough $$. Idk. Anyways...we tried to sneak by hiding in the trunk. Only , i guess it looked odd that two girls were going to the drive in without guys. Needless to say the cashier had them open the trunk, exposing our lil plan.

I went to a lot during the 70s and into the early 80s--but eventually preferred seeing movies indoor because looking through a windshield wasn't as good as seeing it without it.
First movies I think I saw at a drive-in were the Mutations(can't remember it but told we saw it), the Exorcist, and Black Christmas. I remember seeing the last two.
I fell asleep before Star Wars ended because when they played 3-4 movies a night, the most important one was often last.
Sometimes seeing a movie at a drive-in was too spooky-tended to worry someone would open up the door in back.

We would sometimes take lawn chairs and blankets and watch them under the stars. Those were good times. Do any of you remember these between movies?

Thank you for that link. It's sad that there is only 1 open in the state I live in, but it's not to far to another state since we live near the border. As a kid my parents took us to the drive-in a lot in the summer. Mom would always pack a cooler with food and drinks and also brought our pajamas, which we would put on when it got dark. Wow, it sure brings back some nice memories.

Apparently my mom took me to one for The Lion King when I was a baby.
First I actually remember was a double screening of Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning and Jackass 2.
Best experience was Grindhouse. Just felt fitting.
