After a 14 year wait, the end result is... pretty good. I point to two issues - Screenslaver, which despite being an awesome name, is no Syndrome. Plus, the plot twist can be seen miles away. The movie also seems intent on reminding us Elastigirl has a big ass. Not that I'm complaining, though. Although the original remains superior, this sequel is visually rich, has plenty of laughs, and the voice acting remains just as good.

I saw the twist the minute I saw that bloody teaser. The villain is either the Deavors or at least one of them isn't it? I'm sick of these secret 3rd act villains that Disney/Pixar keep doing.

I agree with your thoughts. The twist you could see 100 miles away, and it just feels a bit too derivative of the first film, only with Elastigirl taking Mr. Incredible's place in this kind of story, and vice-versa.
However, I still really liked it a lot. The action was top-notch and it has better animation (which is reasonable considering the evolvement of the technology today compared to 2004's). Plus the way they opened it was very creative.
