If Sweden beats Mexico which is far from impossible and if Germany beats South Korea which is likely, there will be a three-way tie at the top of the group, with Germany possibly taking first place (if they score lots of goals against South Korea). I thought whoever beat who was was top of the table and not goal difference? So theres a chance of Brazil and Germany avoiding each other after all?

Nope, total GD is the first tiebreaker when points are level.

They are nearly as shitty as Germany...also with late goals and all.

The top two teams after the round-robin is completed in each group are determined as follows (regulations Article 32.5):[33]
points obtained in all group matches; goal difference in all group matches; number of goals scored in all group matches; If two or more teams are equal on the basis of the above three criteria, their rankings are determined as follows:
points obtained in the group matches between the teams concerned; goal difference in the group matches between the teams concerned; number of goals scored in the group matches between the teams concerned; fair play points (only one of these deductions shall be applied to a player in a single match) first yellow card: minus 1 point; indirect red card (second yellow card): minus 3 points; direct red card: minus 4 points; yellow card and direct red card: minus 5 points; drawing of lots by the FIFA Organising Committee.

Delighted to hear they can still avoid each other.

Ah well, we know it’s never easy to get rid of the Germans, I guess Turks + mercs...and yes, Vienna was a bloody mess. I mean: if the Poles have to save your sorry ass, then you're really in trouble.

This might well be the worst German National team I've seen in a tournament since Euro 2000....in saying that, I'd have Carsten Jancker over Mario Gomez.

Could see it coming all second half.
That center back, number 4 for Sweden, was driving me nuts with how useless he was the entire time. I saw substitutes one after another and I kept wondering how they did not sub him out. It cost them.
Also, the Swedes had no aggressiveness at all in the second half, guys would break out with the ball and their teammate to the sides just started walking up field instead of streaking down to give him an outlet.
When Germany got down to 10 men Sweden couldn't manage to get the ball out of their half of the field.
Their loss, and it was more their loss than a German win, could be seen for miles.

And this team...ok, a few years ago, turned a 0:4 into a 4:4. They screwed Holland and Italy for Christ's sake. Useless, treacherous bastards.

Not enough quality for Sweden going forward.... what a painful way to lose though. I Really want Germany to get knocked out.

I think its strange that Sweden did not go for 2-1 when Germany lost a player.

Brandt needs to start over Müller, and Gündogan needs to be replaced with either Rudy or Goretzka.
