England jumps over Belgium now, doesn't look like they're going to take a goal. So, interesting match on Thursday, Belgium needs a win to get that first spot. England just needs a tie. And then face a team from a group which isn’t too impressive. There are tougher groups than Group H.

Japan vs Senegal next, if one of those teams wins, they're through! Even so, Poland and Columbia should both be quite doable for England and Belgium as it is. Still, upsets happen.

I don't know if the battle for the #1 spot will be very intense. In the next round Belgium & England will have to play against Colombia, Japan, Poland or Senegal and none of them were really good in their first game. Belgium & England should both easily reach the quarter finals. Maybe it's even better to be #2 in the poule, because (assuming Russia, Spain, France, Croatia, Brazil & Mexico finish 1st in the poule) you don't need to play against Brazil, France, Germany & Argentina until the final. P.S. = Not that Argentina will actually reach the final.

Bound to happen. Loss of focus, and a Panama that desperately wanted at least one goal

For all the unpleasantness on the pitch can't help but love seeing the joy on the Panamanian fans' faces at getting a goal. It's all they came for.

Yes, it's fun to see the happy Panamanian fans. England played really good today, they're now also in my top 5 favorites.

Hardly worth watching that second half, but Panama wasn't able and England no longer needed to. Bit of a shame, but Panama is out.

Not really convinced. England looked shaky at the back again.

Wow! And with that, England guarantee themselves at least 2 more matches before penalties send them home.
Panama is at the WC & USA are not. Canada, we started drinking in '16.

England were scandalously bad in that second half.
5-0 up at H/T, all they had to do was "win" the 2nd half by any scoreline and they were g'teed to top the group by beating or drawing with Belgium. Now they can't be sure of doing that if they draw.
Southgate was pissed at them, you could tell.

Bloody hell lads!
I leave you all in charge of the World Cup for one game, and you let this disaster happen 😡
At least there won't be a spike in battered wifeys in England tonight.

But that was pretty rubbish in the second half.

Or at least not one more than Belgium. It’s the fair play rule at work now, as both teams are tied at all aspects. Belgium has three yellow cards, England two.
