Japan vs Senegal is the hypothetical match-up that I have been using as an example for years of how the World Cup is by far the most important sporting event for me. Many times I have said "I'd rather watch Japan vs Senegal in the World Cup than Barcelona vs Manchester United in the Champions League final or the Superbowl". So now that Japan is finally playing Senegal in a World Cup, I have to watch it!
Go Japan! 2x1 preferably, so that I get some much needed points in the prediction game.

Did Senegal defeat Poland? If so, I'm rooting for them albeit I have a great overall sympathy for Japan.

Comedy of errors in the Japanese box and Senegal is in front. At this point it does not seem at all likely that Senegal will finish the day with less than three points.

Now that is past noon here, I am opening a can of Sapporo! Go Japan! I am just inquisitive. You are a Canadian so why so much of support for Japan? I am myself a massive fan of Japanese medieval culture, Japanese music, Japanese semi-real historical characters like Sasaki Kojiro and Japanese movies of 40s-70s period but have never really cared about their football team.
I am expecting a last minute stealing goal in this match.

I don't know, the country fascinates me. It started with their movies I guess. Not at all a fan of anime or manga, but I like the culture, the traditions, the food (I don't know anything about the music though). Last year I was there on holidays for two weeks (I celebrated my birthday in Hiroshima of all places) and absolutely loved it.

Federer lost the final in Halle to Coric. Shame. It would have been his 99th title, setting him up for his 100th at Wimbledon.
