*lowers Terminator franchise into a molten steel pit* Hahaha! Well played. Great username too. One of my favorite franchises, but like many others, it has had its day. Hasta la vista, baby.

More info from Skydance's David Ellison: “I will say we have resolved the future of the franchise and believe me its an incredibly bright future. I think where it’s going will be the continuation of what the fans really wanted since T2.”

I think they are continuing the franchise in one way or another.
I really don't see how it remains interesting with the whole Sarah & John Connor dynamic and the end result of a war with machines probably won't match up with the other ones like Matrix.

Let's hope he decides on a Conan sequel. ‘The Legend of Conan’ Still In Production, More Details Emerge
08-17-16 • Film Posted by Tony PicknellAnnounced back in 2012, after Arnold Schwarzenegger finished his run as Governor of California, was The Legend of Conan; the film was meant to follow up the 1982 film Conan the Barbarian (directed by John Milius) and largely ignore Conan the Destroyer and the 2011 reboot. While Arnold has gone on to revitalize his film career by appearing in numerous movies in the four years since, Legend was only reconfirmed, claiming production would begin in the fall of 2015. That didn’t happen; however, the film certainly is still in the works, and one of the writers went on to confirm some details. Will Beall (Gangster Squad), who just finished up work on the new Training Day and is working on the highly anticipated Aquaman, went out of his way to talk a bit about the project, to which he is also attached with co-writer Chris Morgan, known for his work on the last four Fast and Furious films, as well as 2008’s Wanted. Beall spoke about the film’s opening, and how it will mirror the ending of the original film. “It opens there. It opens with this [hand on the chin]. It’s where you have to. It’s the sequel that we were promised and never got. I’m 11 when my father took me to see Conan the Barbarian which you should never take an 11-year-old kid to. It was a life changing thing. It’s an unbelievable movie. It comes back to [director John] Milius, right? There’s nobody better and it’s a real movie. It’s a truthful movie. Chris and I from the very beginning said there’s no reason to do it unless it’s a worthy sequel to Milius’s Conan and I think we’ve got that. I really do.” Fredrik Malmberg, the film’s producer, revealed last year that he had acquired the rights to all of the original Conan stories by original author Robert E. Howard. He, along with the aforementioned Chris Morgan, spoke about how they intend to keep the new film close to the style and tone of Milius’ project, by having the film R-rated.

I guess I'm in the minority. While Salvation wasn't great, I thought no Arnold was where they needed to go. T3 was a nice passing of the torch. They should have picked up from TS or did another Future War film. Genesys was a bad idea.
Sarah Connor Chronicles had some good episodes.

How bad was Genisys? I couldn't even sit through CinemaSin's video showing how bad it was.

Arnold Schwarzenegger says he’s not finished making “Terminator” movies. Speaking with Fandango he said: “I’m looking forward to doing another Terminator movie, yes.” Then asked about the reports that the franchise was over, he responded:
“I don’t want to call it, like, fake news, like the president calls it, but I think people just write things – I have no idea why. Just because Paramount doesn’t want to pick up the Terminator franchise, you have 15 other studios willing to do it – that doesn’t mean the Terminator franchise is finished, right?
It just means they are on their way to negotiate with another studio, but I can’t give you the details of that. They’ll announce that. But, yes, the Terminator franchise is never finished. And remember that after 2018, James Cameron is getting it back, and then it will continue on!”
Skydance CEO David Ellison recently said the franchise has ‘an incredibly bright future’ and teased an announcement coming later this year.

welcome news, a good day to pull the plug, the franchise has suffered enough... And now the other Schwarzenegger franchise (Conan the Barbarian) latest attempt at a sequel has fallen through also! Somewhere @conan1982 has locked himself away in a room and is slipping into a catatonic state. 😑
