I personally think Gunn would be insane not to return to the directors chair for Vol 3. If he wants to make another movie in between then it should be something small that won't take 3 years.

I personally think Gunn would be insane not to return to the directors chair for Vol 3 I couldn't imagine doing the same thing twice, let alone three times. I still can't believe that Michael Bay has done 5 (or 6?) Transmorpher films.

Lucas and Malick, who ironically were both "retired" during the exact same period ( 1977-1997 ) are great examples of directorial burnout.

If they run out of cash, he and Roseanne Barr could write a book together "How Child Rape & Racism are A-OK if they are Jokes, Bitch! or: How the Turd Blossoms at Disney raped our Careers."

lol there's a boycott now over this.
People need to move the fuck on, hell if anything this is more likely a good thing. I was getting sick of Gunn's "humor" anyway.
If marvel still wants a comedy from GOTG 3 than hire Taika Waititi. He's a better comedic director than Gunn anyway.
This is a good thing for marvel anyway.

I never liked his humor either but there were plenty of things I about his directing, handling of the characters and use of music. I'm not angry they got rid of him, but I'm happy to pretend Guardians of the Galaxy 3 never happened.

I'll probably see it when it comes on tv or something, but I'm not paying for it. Disney can go **** themselves.

I'm just not going to treat James Gunn as he's some important person for this franchise. He's only THE most important person to this franchise! All the creative decisions that made the GOTG movies successful came from him!
Comedy? Check Sci-fi adventure as opposed to strictly super hero? Check 70s music? Check talking raccoon voiced by Bradley Cooper? Check Walking tree voiced by Vin Diesel? Check Casting Chris Pratt who at the time was a chubby shlub who had a supporting role in a tv show? Check Casting Michael Rooker ins fun supporting role: Check taking a chance on characters that were even MORE unknown than the other Marvel characters? Check And that's just VOL 1!!!
Vol 2: Casting Kurt Rusell and Sylvester Stallone and it worked! Check
It fricking goes on and on!

OR.....he could make a successful movie in the DCEU? When's he going to do that? Everything is relative. More people appear to like it than don't. For the DCEU that's a big win.
