Final game of group D in what could be an explosive, controversial affair, Argentina want, no they need Messi to produce something special to even get out of the group but hence the problem, over reliance on Messi and a clueless manager in Sampaoli who has effectively been stripped of his power by the players according to rumours.
Nigeria are no slouches anyway and have looked decent in their run outs so far, hard to predict this one but.... I say 2 - 1 Nigeria.
7PM KO.

As much as I would like to see Argentina going home early, I think in the end they will pull through and beat Nigeria. The question is, will it be enough? With Croatia all but assured of first place, won't they rest their main players, leaving the door open for Iceland to sneak into the second round?

It will be interesting to see if Argentina can step up tonight. Apparently Maradona was anxious to speak to the Argentina squad prior to this match having seen their previous two performances. I wonder if he did.

I'm going with a win for Argentina. I know they've played bad so far, but I can't imagine them leaving the world cup so soon.

The Argies have dropped Aguero for Higuain and he will be part of a front three with Di Maria and Messi. On paper that looks terrific and if they get a good start they might run riot, but the SuperEagles have some talent in their side. Mikel, Moses, Iheanacho and others. Could be game of the qualifiers. 4-2 Argies.

I hope Argentina doesn't score a lot of goals - that would make it impossible for Iceland to advance.

Fantastic pass to Messi but boy, what he did with it once it was there was spectacular.

Should probably have been a red card for Nigeria.
