I think that the theory that they hid treasures in Canada is bullshit.
But i find the story of the Knight Templar fascinating.

...supposedly, the Knights Templar buried the Ark of the Covenant under the stone floor of Rosslyn Cathedral in Scotland. They then left to travel to the new world (North America).
I visited Rosslyn in the early 1970's. Based on the age of the structure, there were certain ornamental accoutrements inside the church that defied historical perspective.

They were victims of a real "witch hunt."

Makes for a surprisingly underwhelming History Channel show.

They remain mysterious. Perhaps they were good in the beginning and became corrupted later, or perhaps they were rotten all along, or perhaps they were good all along and the charges against them were falsified. The world may never know, but I can't help being struck by the similarity to the Jedi Knights in Star Wars, and the SA brown shirts in Germany, in that they were done away with brutal efficiency in a very short time.
