I just recently found out that Harlin Ellison has DIED...

Anyway never heard of him or her. I am going to guess its a man just based on the name it looks like a male name.

I'm sure he'd hate every loving tribute written about him.

Yes, I've read a few of his novels. He was one of those guys where you see something really excellent on TV and go (to yourself) Holy Crap! That was Awesome! And ….I wonder WHO WROTE THIS? Because it's one of those episodes that stands so far above everything else, you want to make a mental note of the writer to keep an eye for more of his stuff. So you watch the credits carefully at the end to try and catch the name of the writer.

(this was of course way before digital downloads and VCR's and such)

And that's what I did upon first viewing of the OG Star Trek: 'City on the edge of Forever.'

Was rarely disappointed by anything with his name attached to it.
