So I consider this movie to be the biggest downfall of the MCU, This is to me where things reached a point of no return. I did not like the lack of story and retarded humour and over the top CGI of the film but listening to James Cameron gave me another perspective of the film I never fully thought about, turns out it was right.
The film is indeed bad sci-fi or dumb sci-fi but James put its best
"We can see the market drives us to a sort of science fiction now that's either completely escapist and doesn’t require a technical consultant — an example of that would be ‘Guardians of the Galaxy.’ It’s just fun,” Cameron said (via IndieWire). “We don’t care how those spaceships work or any of that stuff works. And then you have scientifically responsible science fiction like ‘The Martian’ or ‘Interstellar.'”
Does anyone feel the same way,

Well, hey, you can’t just show aliens and animals mating via hair with no explanation, right? Oh, thank goodness he provided one and then showed us how it works in great detail. 😅

To me he is describing Science Fiction vs Science Fantasy. With Science Fiction the science pushes the plot along. Where as Science Fantasy the science isn't important, it's just the backdrop of the plot. Both are valid genres of fiction. It doesn't make one better than the other. Guardians of the Galaxy is Science Fantasy. We get vague explanations of the science involved, but it's not important to the plot. We don't know why Rocket needs a Quarnyx Battery to break out of prison he just does. We don't know how the ships are powered or what they mean by jumps to go long distances. It's not important.

star wars is sci fantasy but some stuff is still explained. gotg is space junk. To each their own. I think that the Star Wars Prequel suffered from them trying to explain too much. It went toward Science Fiction. The originals were vague about almost everything. The Force is energy field created by life. The Empire wasn't really explained what it actually was. The Empire was the antagonists and the rebels were the protagonist. We get a line that the Senate is abolished and Governors are taking over. Darth Vader is part machine we don't know why or how. The Jedi are vaguely described. Then the prequels come along and we get a class in Space politics, federation trade routes, midichlorians, senate meetings, .jedi council meetings, origin of clones and the double cross of the Separatist Confederacy of Independent Systems etc. Some times leaving shit vague and part of the background is better... I think Guardians would of suffered if it was more hard Science Fiction then Science Fantasy.

How can Gamora survive being in outer space with no protective gear. Rocket even tells Quill hell die in seconds if he takes off the mask. Yet both are fully alive to do that stupid dance off at the end. It goes against basic physics and biology.

A human will lose consciousness in a few seconds ... and actually expire after a few minutes. Gamora isn’t human, so her mileage probably varied a bit. I hope that cleared things up for you.

She's supposed to have cybernetic enchantments. So maybe that explains why she survived as long as she did. Peter Quill was also half celestial too.

Right. Because he explained how the T1000 was able to do what it did in great detail right? Or maybe he explained how the Navi were able to do their hair-to-hair virtual hookup? Or maybe he explained why Rose didn't just move a few inches to the side of that floating door to give Jack some room.

I guess that makes his comments on Wonder Women true too. Hee hee hee...
Jim has obviously never read a comic book. The genre has never been about hard science fiction it's always been about science fantasy.

Rocket even tells Quill hell die in seconds if he takes off the mask. Yet both are fully alive to do that stupid dance off at the end. It goes against basic physics and biology. Rocket also said that her body mods would give her extra time. I am fixing to go full nerd.... the scene: Rocket: "Quill come on. Her body mods should keep her alive a couple more minutes but there is nothing we can do for her. These pods aren't meant to be out here. In a second we are going to be in the same boat." Starlord: "Damn it" Rocket: "Quill?" Starlord: "Youndo, Youndo. This is Quill. My coordinates are..." Rocket: "Quill! Quill what are you doing." Starlord: "Just outside of Knowwhere. If you are there come get me.I'm all yours." Rocket: "Quill don't be ridiculous. Get back into your pod. You can't fit two people in there you are going to die. You will die in seconds." He takes off his mask. It took less that 2 minutes for him to get to her. He puts the mask on her. She starts to breath. It takes like 40 secs for him to be put on the ship. According to Because Science from Nerdist youtube channel the human body can last that long. from the video : Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 hits theaters this week, but we answer an important question from the first one, could Star-Lord really survive in space without any protection? Kyle has the good, the bad, and a little bit of both on this week's Because Science! Before you die you have 15 uncomfortable seconds of useful consciousness then you go unconscious and you die minutes after. So based on the shot and evidence in the scene and dialogue it works. Her body mods kept her alive long enough to get Quill out there. Then he puts the mask on her. She starts to breath. He is conscious for 15-20 seconds then gets pulled into ship. He has normal atmosphere within the safe zone before he dies. It relies heavily on expositional dialogue but its there. So no it doesn't go against basic physics and biology. If you want to watch it... Because Science is an awesome nerdy channel.

The only thing it gets wrong is after he goes unconscious around 15-20 secs. He would bloat a bit, but the skin is strong enough to hold in the pressure. All the air in his lungs would come out, all the food in his stomach would come out his mouth. All the waste in his bladder would be pulled out. All the food in his small intestines would be pulled out north or south which ever is closest and all the shit in his colon would be pulled out. They may have lost a memorable scene if they portrayed that before he is pulled into the ship. Hell it even got the water freezing on his skin. There was an Astronaut in a vacuum chamber who's suit malfunctioned. He passed out around 30secs and was revived with in 2 min. So technically the body mods weren't fully needed. She was in the safe zone too. The last thing the Astronaut felt as he was going out was the saliva on his tongue boiling off but also cold.

It is a downfall ronan get beat by dancing. Ok can we just get this out on the table. I am so tired of MCU-Fanboys bringing Up Martha. I am so tired of DCEU and MCU Fanboys bringing up Braracka-Pool and Ivan Ooze. And I'm tired of XMU and DCEU Fanboys bringing up the Dance off. 1. Martha- It wasn't just the name that made them friends. It gave Batman Pause. It made him finally realize that Sups was more than just a Risk. Sups was a man to him finally. Bats realized he had gotten so jaded that he was becoming something he hated. It was clunky and could've been done different, but oh well. 2. We can all agree it was a colossal fuck up to make Deadpool the way they did in Origins, but if we didn't have Origins. Ryan wouldn't have taken it on with such passion. We would've never got Deadpool and Deadpool 2. Also Ivan Ooze wasn't purple in the movie. It was a shitty non-color corrected picture. It made him look purple when he was blue. That picture should've have been released. 3. The dance off. It's a cringe worthy joke first of all. It's designed to be. I feel embarrassment for the characters when i see it. It's supposed to be 2 fold. 1 as the cringy joke and 2 in story a distraction. Both parts fit the character, and the situation. Even so theatrically it's retarded. I personally would've liked a different method of distraction. What sort of distraction would you accept???

I never got the Martha thing. He was fighting an all powerful being from another world who suddenly shouted the name of his mother. Naturally he got confused for it briefly and then Lois runs in and says that it's his mother.
At which point Batman realises that this guy has a mother and isn't really so different after all as opposed to some other worldly and dangerous god.
