Rewatching it now. Funny the things you discover years later, like a photo of Keenan Wynn was used for Chester Copperpot.
The IMDB trivia reveals that the dead FBI agent was played by Ted Grossman, more famously known as the rowboat estuary victim in Jaws, and knowing this I wonder why I never recognized him before now.

He and Spielberg must be pals, he's appeared in several of his movies, before and after Jaws.

You may have known it once and forgot it, I think that probably happens to us all a lot when we absorb so much movie-related information weekly.
I have a memory like a sieve so I have to write things down at work to remember them.
