1. Indiana Jones 2. Captain Kirk 3. Mad Max 4. Han Solo 5. Superman 6. Snake Plissken
If I had a 7th choice, it would be James Bond (Roger Moore). Since it's limited to the 1980s only, it brought him down.

IN NO ORDER, i voted for...
-James Bond (Dalton) (he's definitely got the best Bond movie of the 1980's with Licence to Kill (1989)(which is my #3 Bond movie in general) but not only that he does tougher better than Moore does as i think the only Bond actors do to tough well is Craig/Dalton/Connery) -John Rambo (in terms of raw badassness/aggression this character can't be topped) -John McClane -Martin Riggs -Roger Murtaugh (i had to include em because they(Riggs/Murtaugh) work best together even though Riggs has the military training etc and Murtaugh does not.)
while there is some other characters i like on the OP's list i don't really see them as that cool/bad ass hero etc type of thing so i did not for for em and while some of those listed above i can understand why they are listed the movies themselves tend to be forgettable (or mostly forgettable) so i did not bother to vote for em because of that. so my choices tend to be largely inline with those characters being in strong movies with the exception of Rambo as i only mildly like those movies nowadays but because of the sheer toughness of the character etc i had to include em on the list.
p.s. i would have likely voted 'James Bond (Roger Moore)' but if we are strictly looking at 1980's he mostly fizzled out by then as there is only two(TMWTGG/MR) out of the seven Moore Bond movies i like and they are in the 1970's.

Wow, it's so hard to pick. If I had to pick from the 2010's I probably wouldn't even find 6 that I really like

I guess I didn't realize how many amazing heroes came out of the 80s.

Indiana Jones Han Solo Ash Williams Kyle Reese Peter Venkman Connor MacLeod
i guess Venkman wasn't really much of a hero, though. maybe i should've subbed him for Ripley.

What about Harry Callahan? Or is he too much of an antihero?
What about James Bond in the (unofficial) form of Sean Connery?
