This is what football is about. A fantastic and thrilling 90 minutes (or at least last 45 minutes).

I thought it would be tough to beat the Fra-Arg game but this might have beat that. Since my prediction is Uru-Bel in a semi-final I'm happy with the result but feel bad for Japan who could have made history making it past this round.

Looks like I missed another cracker, eh?
The number of killer games in this World Cup is surely unprecedented.

Belgium was bad. But thankfully they stick to what they do best: scoring!
Brasil is going to make mince-meat of this team if they don’t improve their defence. Horrible.

I haven't been so crushed by a defeat as a neutral since Cameroon lost to England in 1990. Yeah....I remember you have been supporting Japan from before the WC started. Losing in this fashion can be disheartening. Congrats Belgium on a great come back but Japan's performance was no disgrace. It's not that I care all that much about Japan - if Belgium had won 3-0 as I had predicted I wouldn't have given it a second thought - it's the manner in which it happened. Going two goals up against all expectations only to lose the game in added time is just cruel.

The problem for the Japanese and South Koreans is not ability or inferior tactics it's down to their size. They find it well nigh impossible to match the rest of the world physically

Last time a team came back from two goals down to win a WC knockout match was West Germany against England in 1970 - and they needed extra time.

It is pretty hopeful. At least they kept going and came on top again. It’s not always so, even Hazard remarked on that. Till now Belgium either win easily or they lost. They’re not all that known for doing this, getting behind with two goals and still taking the win.

To end my day, I have to say that Japan did bloody well! Much better than most expected over here. If they’ld have won, they might have given even Brasil a bloody hard time! So congrats Japan and it’s a shame you didn’t play against England, because then I would have loved the match if it turned out like it did now (it was too frustrating now)

Unlucky, Japan. I had my "go on my (rising) sons" already to go.

Looks like I missed another cracker, eh? The number of killer games in this World Cup is surely unprecedented. It might seem that way because of all the underwhelming 1-0 games in the group stage.
