England fans watching tonight's World Cup clash with Colombia in the pub may come home a little more out of pocket than expected. Pub chain Stonegate Pubs is charging up to 50p more for a pint during England's matches in some of its 690 pubs. The Sun said a Yates in Manchester was charging an extra 20p on drinks, while a Walkabout in Colchester added 25p and the Clock House in Harlow 50p. Stonegate said the price hike paid for door staff, plastic cups and cleaning. The last-16 match in Moscow, which kicks off at 19:00 BST, is expected to bring in big profits for the UK's pubs. www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-44694354

Slimbridge AFC clubhouse does 50p off all drinks until the first goal is scored for world cup games.
0-0 draws have never been so popular.

What's with these England fan bawbags anyway... They go to a 'sports bar' whatever that is, and if England score, everyone throws their plastic pint of piss lager in the air over everyone. Fucking idiots.
Try that in a pub out this end of Bris, and you'd be going home with a busted lip, at best.

Mostly, yes, but we have large contingents of Welsh and Irish descended folk in this area as well who are ABE (this end of Bris was docker communities).

Say if you were to cheer on a Colombia goal today .. or even a Colombia win?

Might be an issue in city centre, but most likely be OK out here, loads support the Taffs or Paddys (at football and rugby) ... Much more likely to come to grief giving it large about City or Rovers in the wrong pub.
