Nationals consider trading Bryce Harper if they fall out of the postseason race?

I've softened my stance I want Harper at all costs come the winter meetings.

reminds me of Dom Brown years back - all this hype as the #1 Prospect in Baseball - 5 Tool Stud - he wasn't even a 1 Tool Stud and I think he's out of the league now.

i'll take my chances unloading JP at the trade deadline with filler like a few 2nd tier Single A/Double AA pitching prospects with the hope of resigning him long term.

May seem insane (like the Sixers with Kawhi) - but they're 9 games over .500 right now with a cupcake schedule heading into the trade deadline.

Nats are falling off.    Would like to see the Baby Braves sustain this - but who knows.   Bravos and Phightens division and you'd think one could get a WC.

Machado can be had for giving up '0' prospects winter meetings - truth be told if you're making a playoff push this year - and you see nothing in Crawford (which I don't) - go for it.

There’s no way in hell the Phillies will get Machado, Harper and Trout. Getting 2 of them would be a miraculous move. I would consider trading Harper if I was the Nats GM and we weren’t in playoff contention, since he will likely leave anyway in the offseason.

Srsly though, who in their right mind would give up future pieces for Harper without guaranteed contract extension.  Which in fact answers the poll 'Yes' because if they can rob some team blind like that, go for it.
