This is one of those drive-in type movies I like to watch every summer. It's cheap but inventive and for some reason I never get tired of it.
Peter Cushing is a Third Reich military guy living in exile on an island (although it once had a functioning hotel so how far off charted waters could it have been?) with a squad of zombie soldiers stashed underwater. Tourists on a cruise ship with John Carradine as captain turn up and the zombies are reactivated.
Makes effective use of the two stars (given how they are only available for a short time I think it was clever the way they spread them out just enough before having to rely on the lesser known cast) and the Florida location (a hotel that was out of commission--now back in operation I hear).

Good idea for a movie but somewhat poorly executed. Cushing and Carradine were excellent as always, even if the movie was a dud.
On the old IMDb's I Need to Know board someone described this film, and I couldn't remember the title. By the time I looked it up another poster had identified it already, so as a joke I suggested "Surf Nazis Must Die" as an alternate.

Big fan of it. Simple and taut low-budget horror that plays to its strengths. Great creepy mood, isolated locations and ominous electronic score. Stalwart actors achor the story, especially Cushing’s speech of the goggle wearing aquatic albino nazi zombies and I love the scenes of these zombies popping out of the water. Plus Brooke Adams and Luke Halpin made for likeable protagonists.

I rewatched this one last night (it had been many years since my last viewing) and it still holds up. Solid acting, likable characters, terrifying SS zombies, and a nice creepy (almost) deserted island setting. Carradine and Cushing are at their weird best and Brooke Adams looks absolutely delightful in a bikini. Still the best 'Nazi zombie' film I've ever seen. A classic.

I've got to try and see this one again. The one time I saw it was on the CBS Late Show back in the 80s, so that was a hell of a long time ago. But from what I remember it was pretty good and freaky.

Never seen it but I'm intrigued by the plot.
