I've thrown away coins in the interest of science.
As Catman has already mentioned, the coin on the railroad track.
In high school shop class I used a brake to bend pennies.
I once tried to skip pennies across a river. I was inspired by the legend of George Washington skipping a silver dollar across the Rappahannock. I wouldn't use silver dollars. That's just crazy talk.

I'm pretty sure I put my hand in my pocket and threw a British twenty pound note in a trashcan because I thought it was a piece of paper or tissue.

This is something i like about American paper money: its all the same size. i suppose having the bills be different sizes is good for the blind. one of my favorite shows is a british show YOU RANG M'LORD? [from the are you being served guys]. idk if they used real money from 1920s on the show but i knew they had different sizes for the notes. some were the size of a half a sheet of paper! really?! |

I've never thrown money away, but I was at the bar with a buddy who was highly intoxicated. We were sitting at a table and he pulls out his wallet, pulls out a big wad of cash and makes it rain. People were picking up the cash while he sat there laughing. The next day when he was sobered up he accused me and another guy who was with us of taking his money.
