-The large building that served as Carlotta's hotel/rooming house, has been gone for decades. And as Jimmy Stewart is getting out of his car and looking up at the rooming house, behind him is the enormous St. Paulus Lutheran Church which was lost to fire in 1995. I visited the site (950 Gough Street, San Francisco) in 2001.
