OK, this is silly: I’m watching a Columbo episode, “Death Lends a Hand,” right now, and Robert Culp is the killer (not a spoiler; as usual with Columbo, you know the killer from the beginning). There’s this scene about 3/4 through where Culp offers Columbo a job (in exchange for his dropping the case in which Culp’s the killer, of course, and Culp says—no kiddin’, guys—Culp says:
“Innit?”
I couldn’t believe it! Innit?

Don't think I've ever seen or heard a person say Innit except on these boards. And honestly don't know the inside joke. Think I wasn't here when it broke and I never asked for context.

It's one of Colden's many catchphrases. I found it funny so I copied him, as did others (I also stole my signature Put a Random Number/Symbol at the End of a String of Exclaimation Points from him too!!!!!!!!!@). Now it's a catch phrase for the whole board. Innit?

And now you’ve given us (nearly) another Colden catchphrase—“so basically.” Especially to be used when responding to PreachCaleb. Good times.

And then there's "mang", Colden's third catchphrase, which I did not realize was meant to be pronounced with a Puerto Rican accent... So I (still) pronounce it MANG with a standard American accent. It sounds funnier that way anyway.

No Morpho, Only Bánh mì, _, HaveYourselfaMerryLittleAckbar, Hauntedknight87, BATouttaheck, et al. OK, here we continue with the “Catchphrases in Movies and TV Shows Made Before the Catchphrase was Coined” Report. (It’s a long title, which is why the news networks have unconscionably kept it off the air. The noive of dem people!) I’m watching the Abbott and Costello flick The Time of Their Lives (’46) on TCM right now, and Lou screams to Bud—this is a hoot—

Completely different continent and culture from Scarface to Crocodile Dundee.

Did he retire at the 10k mark? It seems so. Our attempts to summon him back have failed.
