In 2014 there were some exciting and dramatic round-of-16 matches (Germany needing overtime to beat Algeria, Netherlands vs Mexico, Belgium vs USA, Colombia vs Uruguay) but my recollection of the quarter-finals (and beyond) was that they were pretty boring (*). I hope we don't see a repeat of that this year.
(*)With the exception of that one match that ended 7-1, where one team failed to show up - that was anything but boring.

I hope Russia stays alive. If a non-favourite home team stays alive then the tournament has a whole lot of extra charm about it.

Today could be an amazing day for football with Uruguay - France and Belgium - Brazil.

Well the problem with Belgium - Brazil is that we will get 5 minutes with football and 85 minutes with Neymar rolling around on the ground.

Brasil vs Belgium should give us quite a lot of goals. Belgium has a weak defence, but an excellent attacking ability.

Maybe Federer-Querrey, Raonic-Isner, Djokovic-Zverev, Del Potro-Nadal

Maybe Federer-Querrey, Raonic-Isner, Djokovic-Zverev, Del Potro-Nadal That's a bit sexist innit?
Del Potro x Nadal would be a great game! Raonic x Isner would probably be a boring serving contest.
