Sahara. I like the idea of an adventure movie about an African automobile race with some derring-do involving Arab sheiks and desert brigands. And it's a period piece too which they didn't have to do.
The actual movie? Not so much.

Overall 1983 was a good year for film, but it certainly had its fair share of stinkers.

The 1980s are the 'greatest' decade for 'worst films' - so many choices!
For 1983 I'd nominate Flashdance, although Class is a strong contender too.
