Any fans of this 70s car chase flick? I think it's one of the best of its kind, and a lot of fun. Lots of likable characters played by an appealing cast, but Raul Julia steals the show as the horny Italian driver. Each character gets involved in some very funny situations as they participate in an illegal cross-country car race. Even the car stunts/crashes are done in a highly comical fashion. I especially enjoyed the silent motorcycle rider getting into all kinds of mishaps.
Gumball Rally is easily better than Cannonball, which came out that same year, and the Cannonball Run series. All these movies were inspired by a real-life cross-country car race.
