No. I really only began to like him with Braveheart. Lethal Weapon series was never quite my lane, partially because I barely watched as a kid like I did Arnold & Bruce. I was giving up with his later directorial weirdness, & fully with his public meltdown.

Neutral on his politics, as I'm a moderate.
On his movies, I lean more to his movies that he had more of a hand in, such as when he is directing or producing. His earlier works are more for geeks. He gives an honest, well intentioned forward thinking value to the art with movies like "Passion of the Christ" and "We Were Soldiers". They're a lot more innovative, original, and less Hollywood than his Mad Max and crazy cop movies, which were totally non risk taking, and totally predictable Hollywood.
So, in the final analysis, with his best being in what he had more of a say in, I have to say "Yea".

Yeah, I love Mel Gibson films....acting and directing. He's pretty old now and he doesn't star in much anymore but I always liked most of his films.
